Warriors' Plane to Houston for Game 3 Delayed 6 Hours Due to Mechanical Issues
Few teams have been able to ground the high-flying Golden State Warriors on the court this season, but mechanical issues with their plane prevented them from arriving in Houston on time Friday.
After taking a 2-0 lead over the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals, the Dubs' flight to Houston for Saturday's Game 3 was delayed six hours, according to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com:
Due to the problems with their original plane, the Warriors had to switch to a different one before making the trip from Oakland to Houston, per Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle:
Golden State still has plenty of time to get prepared since Saturday's contest doesn't start until 9 p.m. ET, but it did mess with the No. 1-seeded team's rhythm.
According to ESPN.com's Ethan Strauss, the Warriors were forced to cancel their scheduled practice Friday:
Perhaps that will give the reeling Rockets a slight advantage, although it seems as if Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are capable of knocking down threes as soon as they step off the plane.
If the flight delay does cause the Warriors to get off to a slow start in Game 3, however, the Rockets must take advantage, or else they risk not having any reason to fly back to Oakland for a Game 5.
