Roman Reigns Should Lose at WWE Extreme Rules Due to Bray Wyatt Interference
Every conventional wrestling thought should point to Roman Reigns defeating Big Show at Extreme Rules on Sunday, but Bray Wyatt must interfere in the match and begin an extended feud with the 2015 Royal Rumble winner.
While leaving the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene was the best-case scenario for Reigns, beginning a feud with Big Show is not exactly what he needs to continue properly developing as a top star in the company.
The heat on Big Show will make Reigns the face by default, but he needs a long-term storyline against a true heel.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Big Show won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and now there seems to be an underlying plan for The Authority’s enforcer.
Wyatt interfering in the Extreme Rules Last Man Standing match between Big Show and Reigns would be the perfect way to turn the page on a bad matchup and look forward to one with legitimate possibilities. Simply allowing Wyatt to show up out of nowhere, destroy Reigns and basically hand Big Show the win would explain the ending of the match and build instant heat for the new feud.
As heelish as Wyatt attacking Reigns would be, saving him from a meaningless and lazy feud with Big Show could be one of the biggest face moves imaginable in the eyes of hardcore wrestling fans.
The WWE Universe is having trouble getting excited for Extreme Rules due to several rematches and the lack of marquee storylines. Having Wyatt attack Reigns would give the company the marquee program it can lean on for the next three pay-per-views if needed.
Add in the fact that Reigns would be looking for payback against Wyatt—May’s PPV is titled Payback because timing—and the vast majority of wrestling fans would be able to pick a side in this battle.
Hardcore fans would take Wyatt’s side and casual members of the WWE Universe could root for Reigns.
These are two younger performers who need a storyline that can take advantage of their strengths and hide their weaknesses. Wyatt could do most of the talking in the feud, and his slower pace would help Reigns look like a viable threat in the ring.
Regardless of who wins, working together would help both men as long as the storyline is booked properly.
If both Reigns and Wyatt were to bring their best and elevate each other, the resulting series of matches could headline PPVs. Wyatt is already incredibly over with the fans, but the hope would be the WWE Universe would continue accepting Reigns as a top star moving forward.
