IPL 2015 Results: Kings XI vs. Daredevils Scorecard, Latest Table, Fixture Info
Delhi Daredevils finally ended their 11-match losing streak in the Indian Premier League, beating last year's finalists Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday thanks to a furious late rally.
It looked as if luck would once again not be on Daredevils' side when JP Duminy was run out after clashing with bowler Axar Patel, but the partnership of Yuvraj Singh and Mayank Agarwal shifted gear at just the right time, powering Delhi to victory in the latter overs. Angelo Matthews scored the winning runs on the final delivery.
Punjab's total of 165 must have left the team satisfied after their innings, with Delhi's spinners giving up a lot of runs to chase wickets, but ultimately, the pure power of Delhi's batsmen proved to be the difference.
Kings XI will have their work cut out for them if they wish to return to the IPL final, while Delhi can finally rejoice after a much-needed win and build on this momentum.

Delhi Daredevils End Losing Streak, Beat Kings XI Punjab
3 of 3
Delhi Daredevils (169/5) beat Kings Xi Punjab (165/7) by five wickets.
Delhi Daredevils ended their 11-match losing streak in the IPL on Wednesday, emerging victorious after a thriller against Kings XI Punjab.
Victory seemed safe after a fantastic 15th over in their innings, but a handful of late wickets saw the match come down to the final delivery.
Kings XI elected to bat after winning the toss, in an attempt to put pressure on Delhi and come away with a solid total. As shared by ESPN Cricinfo's Freddie Wilde, the odds were certainly on their side:
"If #DD lose today they will have lost 12 matches in a row giving them the record for the longest losing streak in the #IPL. #KXIPvDD #KXIP
— Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) April 15, 2015"
After a slow start to the innings, the duo of Virender Sehwag and Wriddhiman Saha started finding a rhythm, particularly feasting on the Daredevil spinners. Sehwag and Saha were aggressive early, trying to boost their run rate, to the excitement of Wilde:
"Seehwag ball; hit ball. #IPL #KXIPvDD #KXIP #DD
— Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) April 15, 2015"
JP Duminy would eventually catch veteran Sehwag after the 36-year-old had amassed 47 runs, while Amit Mishra bowled his partner moments earlier.

With the partnership broken, Punjab's run rate slowed down as well. George Bailey was the top performer in the latter overs, managing 19 runs from 11 deliveries to help push his team's total to 165.
Nathan Coulter-Nile was Delhi's most efficient man with the ball, walking away with an economy rate of 4.66, but the star performer was undoubtedly Imran Tahir, who claimed three wickets for the cost of 43 runs.
The South African collided with Axar Patel, who had followed his own delivery and managed to divert the ball back before Duminy could make up his ground. Sky Sports Cricket shared a few shots of the odd sequence:Delhi's chase took a hit when Shreyas Iyer was dismissed after just five balls, but Duminy and Mayank Agarwal soon found their footing and managed to stay with Punjab's run rate. Duminy in particular looked good, until he was run out in almost comical fashion.

IPL's Gaurav Kapur gave full credit to the bowler:
"Unfortunate for Duminy. Brilliant reaction by Patel. Is this the stroke of luck #KXIP need to swing things their way?
— Gaurav Kapur (@gauravkapur) April 15, 2015"
Kings XI's bowlers did a fantastic job limiting boundaries, and with six overs left to play, victory seemed all but assured for last year's finalists. Agarwal responded with two fours and a six in the 15th, however, and following a crucial dropped catch by Sandeep Sharma, Delhi were back in business.
Yuvraj Singh added two sixes in the next innings, pushing the team's required run rate under seven.
Best I've seen Yuvraj bat in a long while. Steady approach and terrific clean hitting. Can see ho2 Delhi be stopped from winning game now?Ayaz Memon praised Singh's performance and wondered whether Daredevils could finally break their losing streak:

Anureet Singh then stepped in and removed Yuvraj and Agarwal on back-to-back deliveries, adding some excitement to the final two overs. Punjab resisted until the final ball, when Angelo Matthews scored a four with Delhi needing just two to win the match.

Agarwal told ESPN Cricinfo how important it was for him and his team-mates to finally bag a win:
"I am extremely happy and I want to thank my team. The plan was to keep wickets in hand and see off the new ball. After last year, it is good to be part of a winning side."
Delhi haven't had much to cheer about in recent times, and while they certainly won't be favourites to make this year's play-offs following Wednesday's win, the momentum could certainly work in their favour.
Punjab are a good team, as evidenced by their strong showing last year, and while Kings XI have missed their start, it's still not an easy team to beat.
