Braves Opening Day 2015: TV Schedule, Live Stream and Predictions
Oh, what a difference one season can make. Few franchises have undergone a more massive facelift than the Atlanta Braves since the start of the 2014 season.
Following an overwhelming disappointment to close out last year, the Braves changed from top to bottom. General manager Frank Wren was fired and replaced by John Hart shortly after. Hart proceeded to trade Jason Heyward, Justin Upton and Evan Gattis, among others.
Suffice to say, this year's Opening Day roster will look drastically different, as Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan notes:

That list was shortened again when Craig Kimbrel and Melvin Upton Jr. were moved to the San Diego Padres, per Kiley McDaniel of FanGraphs. Carlos Quentin and Cameron Maybin will both shake up the the Braves' outfield rotation, and Matt Wisler was Baseball America's No. 1 prospect for the Padres.
Braves fans are slowly adapting to new faces heading into Opening Day, but some familiar faces are still ready to lead. Freddie Freeman, Julio Teheran and Andrelton Simmons are all ready to take the next step—a necessity if Atlanta plans to compete at all in the NL East.
Before the first pitch is thrown from Teheran, here's a look at the full schedule and predictions for Opening Day against the Miami Marlins.

Prediction

With all of the turnover on the Braves roster, building chemistry might not be easy to start the season. However, it appears that some new members have already meshed with some of the faces of the franchise.
Freeman, who saw a slight dip in his production last year, has been working harder this offseason. One of the biggest components in his growth has been a nudge from new teammate Jonny Gomes. The veteran outfielder spoke about his work with Freeman, via Mark Bowman of MLB.com:
"Everybody talks about superstars and how good they are. … But why don't we push them so that their slump lasts just three days? Or make them know that instead of being the best on their team, they should be the best at their position in the whole game?
Those [superstars] don't get pushed because there's no one better on the team. So, there's got to be someone who is willing to put the time into those guys as well. Because if [Freeman] slumps a week, we're [going to feel it].
"
As Bowman points out, Freeman is now the unquestioned face of the franchise. While he won't be able to carry the team on his back to a pennant, his production will decide several games for the Braves.
Several new pieces will also be on the roster, with the entire outfield being renovated. With Quentin and Maybin coming over, Gomes and Eric Young Jr. might still be in the lineup given their familiarity with the team.
In right field, Nick Markakis is hoping to make his first start with his hometown team after signing with Atlanta in the offseason. Markakis believes he'll be ready for Opening Day, via David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
"I’m good (physically). I’m ready to go. Just finishing up my at-bats here and getting some more innings in the field. Ready for Monday… I think there’s a 95 percent chance I’ll be there Monday, so we’ll see. …
That was my whole plan, and the organization’s plan. They weren’t rushing me. They basically asked me what I wanted to do, how I felt, and my spring’s gone pretty smoothly. I’m where I want to be right now, health-wise.
"
The collection of talent is not as great as in seasons past, but this is still an Opening Day roster worthy of competing against the Marlins. Facing Henderson Alvarez in the first game, the Braves should get in the win column to kick off the year.
Maintaining success will be difficult for Atlanta with the offense lacking power, but consistency might go a long way. Given the turnover, predicting what's to come is an arduous task. On Monday, at least, Braves fans will have a glimmer of hope with Teheran on the mound to start the long 162-game season.
Prediction: Braves 4, Marlins 3
