NBA 2K15: Sim Bhullar Added to Kings, Patch 4.0 Notes and New MyTeam Challenge
It's not every day that a 7'5", 360-pound guy gets added to a real NBA roster—or your NBA 2K15 video game. Both happened this week when the Sacramento Kings signed Sim Bhullar. Subsequently, the fellas in charge of rosters with the NBA 2K15 development team have put Bhullar in the game.
This is significant because Bhullar will instantly be one of the most recognizable players in your NBA 2K15 experience but also because the game doesn't even allow you to create players taller than 7'2". I hoped this would unlock the height restrictions for created players, but that's not the case.
At any rate, the largest man in the NBA is now available in the game.
Patches and Updates
Patch 4.0 Released
The fourth patch for NBA 2K15 was released on April Fools' Day, but it really existed. It was a relatively minor update that hit a variety of smaller issues such as problems in the MyPlayer Store and system instability in uncommon areas of the game. The changes affect the Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.
Here are the patch notes, per NBA 2K's Facebook page:
"
- Addressed an issue where purchased, created shoes in the MyPLAYER Store would revert to the unpurchased state upon leaving the menu.
- Upon signing an endorsement deal with a shoe company in MyCAREER, shoes from that brand will once again be wearable by your MyPLAYER.
- (XB1) Online games will no longer disconnect during gameplay when one or more users had minimized the title and returned while sitting on the Team Select screen prior to playing.
- Made a number of improvements to the player progression/regression systems that drive player ratings in MyGM/MyLEAGUE/MyCAREER.
- Fixed a rare case where the user team would trade for the upcoming pick mid-draft (MyGM/MyLEAGUE), but the team that traded away the pick would retain the rights to the player.
- Fixed an issue where some users were unable to access specific Online Leagues.
- Removed “auto-hesitation” dribble animations that played when driving near defenders. Smoothed out the sprint to jog transition in the back court.
- Tuned shot percentages for a more obvious distinction between open and covered shots. Slight increase to contact dunk frequency for high level dunkers.
- Corrected an issue in MyTEAM where improved player badges were not appearing in the correct color when viewing a head-to-head game. The correct badge level with appropriate gameplay adjustments are now being made.
- The ‘Bruiser’ and ‘Hardened’ badges will now unlock properly in MyCAREER when the appropriate conditions are met.
- Fixed a rare case where some users would occasionally see the title hang during the series of legal screens at the start of the game.
- (XB1) Corrected an issue where Park Chat through the My NBA 2K15 app would not work for some users.
- (XB1) Fixed an issue where a user’s gamertag would not update in the Roster Creator interface when the gamertag was changed outside of the title.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

Player Ratings
A huge update came through on Friday that caused a massive change to player ratings. It also completely updated the Euroleague team rosters and added Sim Bhullar to the Sacramento Kings roster. Mike Stauffer of 2K Sports and Operation Sports explains how the tweak to shooting ratings impacts overall player marks:
"Three-point and mid-range shooting ratings were globally adjusted based on shooting percentages from the newest patch. (Every player had their standing and moving mid-range and three-point-shot ratings decreased by eight points.) Due to these changes, in some cases the overall rating for players may be drastically different than it was before."
MyTeam
All-Time Kentucky Challenge
As the current Kentucky Wildcats attempt to complete the first undefeated men's college basketball season in 39 years (Indiana Hoosiers), it seems only right for MyTeam to honor the kings of the Bluegrass State with a MyTeam challenge.

Let's see if there's something called the MyTeam jinx.
The Glide and Luke Come to MyTeam
As part of the weekly Throwback Thursday addition to the MyTeam player roster, The 1994-95 version of the Houston Rockets' Clyde Drexler and the 1967-68 version of the Cincinnati Royals' Jerry Lucas have been added.
Drexler was already in the game as part of the early 1990s Portland Trail Blazers, as was Lucas with the 1971-72 New York Knicks. However, each man's game was a little different in the previous incarnations.
Lucas was in his prime with the Royals in the 1960s. In the 1964-65 season, which was Lucas' second season, he averaged an insane 21.4 points and 20 rebounds per game. The previous version of Lucas averaged just 16.1 points and 13.7 rebounds per contest.
The 1994-95 season was the year Drexler was traded from the Blazers to the Rockets. He made 50 percent of his shots from the field that year for Houston but under 43 percent for Portland.

2KTV
April Fools' Day Edition
This week's episode of 2KTV showcased the 2K community's blooper reel, and we also saw some deleted scenes from the various interviews with players and personalities. Last but not least, gameplay producer Scott O'Gallagher tells us how to cheat our way into making half-court shots with ridiculous regularity.
Sim-style gamers need not watch this blasphemous part of the video.

Da Czar Probing for Sim Feedback
The NBA 2K community is divided into two sections: Sim Nation and MyPark players. Rarely do you see the two sides mix. Da Czar is a member of the 2K development team, but much of what he does is dedicated to making the game play as realistically as possible.
Sim Nation, that means he's there for you.
With that said, when he speaks on sim-related topics, those of us who love simulation-style experiences are all ears. Most recently, Da Czar was probing for info on the details surrounding the minute allocation in modes like MyLeague and MyGM.
Personally, I don't want that sort of limitation. Obviously, it's just a matter of a minute, but we gamers get particular with the level of control we have in our games.
In the end, though, there are more detrimental changes that could be made.
