WWE WrestleMania 2015 Results: Winners and Top Performers from Sunday's Event

Brian MaziqueMar 30, 2015

Wow! What a WrestleMania. It's early, but WrestleMania 31 was one of the best in the history of the storied annual event.

Seth Rollins crashed Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns' party in the main event, successfully cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase to become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion, but that was just one of the major events that took place.

There were only two subpar matches during the show, several awesome examples of mic work and plenty of the drama that professional wrestling is built on.

Maybe you didn't think this was one of the best WrestleManias ever, but it's hard to find a major fault with the way things went down in Santa Clara on Sunday.

Here's a look at the results table for the entire event.

Best Mic Work: Stephanie McMahon

Many fans are so busy hating Stephanie McMahon's character that they sometimes fail to acknowledge her absolute brilliance on the mic. Steph's segment with Triple H and the Rock brought out UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

McMahon expertly insulted the Great One, tried to appeal to Rousey's soft side and then bad-mouthed her before things got physical. The culmination of the scene was a bit of a letdown, considering most were expecting Rousey to slap an arm bar on Steph, but it was still brilliant work by McMahon. The official WrestleMania Twitter account captured the anticlimactic moment:

The chairman's daughter continues to display the physical disposition, vast array of facial expressions and all of the other little things that make for a great heel. No one was better on the mic than Steph on Sunday, and quite frankly, it's about time she got credit for being one of the best of all time in that regard.

Best Entrance: Triple H

Thor meets the Terminator in the image above from the WWE Universe.

I don't care if you don't like Triple H, the Authority, men with big noses or whatever—you're completely insane if you didn't dig Triple H's entrance to his match with Sting. Blending the Terminator theme with his normal regal concept made for perhaps the best entrance in the history of WrestleMania.

Best Move: Randy Orton, and Best Sell: Seth Rollins

Rollins and Dolph Ziggler are the best sellers in the WWE. On Sunday night, Rollins sold one heck of an RKO to end his match with Randy Orton. Rollins went for the Curb Stomp but Orton countered by allowing the Architect to spring himself into the air and right into an RKO.

The height Rollins got and his timing made it almost easy for Orton execute his fantastic cutter with precision. It was beautiful work by two of the best in-ring workers in the business today. Complex Magazine also marveled at Rollins and Orton's sequence:

The Viper won the match, but Rollins would have his moment of glory later in the evening.

Best Match: (Tie) Sting vs. Triple H and Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

It's rare when there are two matches at a pay-per-view that seriously warrant the title of Match of the Night, but that was the case on Sunday. Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar was good enough on its own, but once Rollins got in the mix, good became great.

The Sting versus Triple H battle was so well executed from a dramatic standpoint that it would be criminal not to give it its due.

Lesnar was pounding a game Reigns into submission—all the while poorly taking and executing maneuvers from a self-preservation standpoint. I'm not sure if the buckles on Reigns' ring attire were causing lacerations on Lesnar's face, but it seemed as if he was acquiring a cut a minute.

Considering he was tossing Reigns around the ring for most of the first 15 minutes of the match, it seems certain the injuries didn't occur as a result of any of Reigns' offense. In fact, Lesnar could be heard saying "Suplex City, b---h" as Reigns struggled to gain his wherewithal.

Reigns did get some momentum, hitting four Superman Punches and two spears, but he couldn't put Lesnar away. With both men down and out, Rollins chose to take advantage of the situation by cashing in the Money and the Bank.

Since no one had been pinned, the match became a Triple Threat. During a scramble, Reigns speared Lesnar while the champion had Rollins up on his shoulders for the F5. Rollins quickly got to his feet and Curb Stomped Reigns to win the title. It was pretty awesome and received the stamp of approval from legendary announcer Jim Ross.

Sting proved he still has what it takes to electrify a crowd and pull off most of his signature maneuvers. The match had a great ebb and flow, but the inclusion of the nWo and D-Generation X made the match even more historic.

X-Pac, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and Shawn Michaels came to Triple H's aid. Sting was backed up by his WCW brothers: Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and the immortal Hulk Hogan. In the end, Triple H prevailed and the WWE gave us this historic in-ring scene captured by WrestlingNews.co.

Both of these matches rated really high in my book and topped off an excellent pay-per-view.
