Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it is a one-year pact worth north of $1 million:
Selvie spent each of the past two seasons with the rival Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2013 with seven sacks in 16 starts, but his production dipped this past season, as he was only able to haul the opposing quarterback down on three occasions.
The former South Florida standout was largely a reserve player from 2010 through 2012 with the St. Louis Rams, Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars after the Rams selected him in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL draft.
New York already retained his former South Florida teammate, Jason Pierre-Paul, in free agency. Pierre-Paul talked about Selvie joining the team, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News:
The G-Men also have Cullen Jenkins, Robert Ayers and Damontre Moore on the roster, so while it is unclear if he will start opposite of JPP, he figures to have a pass-rushing role.
Selvie really seemed to hit his stride in that regard a couple of seasons ago, and the Giants are taking a fairly low-risk chance on the veteran defensive end regaining that form.
