WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of March 16

Ryan DilbertMar 20, 2015

Steve Austin, Sheamus and Sting inspired a good chunk of the best WWE-related social media this week.

Stone Cold couldn't understand Iggy Azalea. WWE celebrated Sheamus' upcoming return with a pair of share-worthy videos. Sting's emergence on Monday's Raw had Twitter abuzz.

Dream Diva matches, R-Truth's fashion statement and a legend visiting NXT made the list as well.

One can't discuss WWE viral videos without mentioning Max Landis' short film Wrestling isn't Wrestling, though. While it's too NSFW to go up here, the passionate, creative and outlandish tribute to pro wrestling storytelling is a must-watch for fans and folks who just don't get what all these spandex dudes are doing between the ropes. Go watch it.

The film even got the attention of the The Wall Street Journal:

Iggy Azalea garnered attention of her own by rapping gibberish on stage. WWE wisely fused that viral clip with one of Austin's most famous lines:

Paige recently told MTV UK that she would love to take on The Texas Rattlesnake if she worked a program with a male wrestler.

Her more immediate showdown has her teaming with AJ Lee against The Bella Twins at WrestleMania. That pairing of former Divas champions does not yet have a name. Paige has no shortage of ideas, though.

AJ sought some help from Twitter for coming up with a moniker for their duo. Paige came through with a few viable options:

Hopefully at next year's WrestleMania we see more of a dream match from the Divas division. The company has too often neglected its women and given them bouts that feel thrown together.

What if AJ took on Stephanie McMahon? What if Paige battled Lita?

WWE explored this idea of Divas dream matches by asking Alicia Fox, Natalya and others who they would most like to face:

If the company could get its hands on a time machine, it could certainly open the possibilities for more dream bouts. Transport The Fabulous Moolah from her prime and have her take on today's top women. For the men's side, plucking Mick Foley from the past could have him take on Bray Wyatt or Dean Ambrose in matches brimming with potential.

In real life, Foley is retired now, a dad who is still very much a fan of the business.

He recently took a trip to see NXT with his sons. Enzo Amore shared a fun shot of the Foley boys, himself and Colin Cassady on Instagram:

By the time Amore or Cassady move to the main roster, the Intercontinental Championship could be a far more valuable title. WWE is certainly trying to make that happen by involving Daniel Bryan in the title hunt.

However, it can't help itself from making that chase a silly one.

R-Truth wore the strap on his back on Monday night, as seen on WWE's Instagram:

This angle has been a huge boost for R-Truth. He has gone from being an afterthought to being a funny contributor to the show again. The battle for airtime is about to get tougher, though, as Sheamus is set to return.

WWE looked to turn the volume up on the anticipation of his arrival. It featured him heavily in a clip of devastating kicks to the face:

Bruiser Brody and Soaring Eagle make brief appearances as well.

The Celtic Warrior was also the subject of WWE's latest countdown video. The collection of 10 clips showcases Sheamus' hardest hits. Jamie Noble and Mark Cuban are among the powerhouse's victims:

Sheamus will soon make his mark on WWE TV again, but this week belonged to Sting. The Icon joined Randy Orton to fend off The Authority on Monday's Raw.

That led to a number of fans typing exclamation points in their tweets and several wrestlers offering their thoughts on Sting's appearance.

Corey Graves wondered aloud why Orton and Sting would form a partnership:

Solomon Crowe joked around about Sting's ability to pop up out of the darkness:

Lance Storm summed up the segment and its effectiveness perfectly:

Now WWE just has to hope that Sting's first match with the company works as well as all the theatrics and spectacle that have accompanied him so far. The setup has been excellent. The payoff is on its way.
