MLB All-Star Game 2026 Roster Predictions, June Edition

With another month of baseball in the books, it's time for an updated round of All-Star Game roster predictions. The annual exhibition of the game's brightest stars will be played on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

The May 5 version of these predictions was still based partially in preseason expectations with such a small sample size of games, but now the focus shifts to who is most deserving based solely on 2026 production.

Using the 32-player roster format and sticking to the rule of selecting one player from each of the 30 teams, we have assembled our projected 2026 AL and NL All-Star teams. For consistency, each roster consists of 20 position players and 12 pitchers.

Notes

-It's hard to believe Mike Trout has not been voted to start the All-Star Game since 2019. With a 152 OPS+, 14 home runs and 2.6 WAR on the year, he is on track to earn the seventh starting nod of his illustrious career.

-Shea Langeliers (144 OPS+, 16 HR, 2.7 WAR) and Ben Rice (184 OPS+, 17 HR, 2.3 WAR) should both be first-time All-Star selections in some capacity, whether they are voted in by the fans or selected to a reserve spot.

-The Yankees vote could help carry Jazz Chisholm Jr. in an extremely thin group of candidates among AL second basemen. Rookie Travis Bazzana and 2025 playoff hero Ernie Clement are the leading candidates to challenge him for the starting spot.

Notes

-Don't be surprised if Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) and Aaron Judge (rib stress fracture) are voted to start the All-Star Game, though both players would likely be injury scratches. Nick Kurtz and Randy Arozarena were added to the roster to replace them, with Ben Rice and Riley Greene moving into the starting lineup.

-Catcher Adley Rutschman (Orioles) and third baseman Josh Jung (Rangers) are the lone representatives for their respective teams, and both are enjoying bounce back seasons after a disappointing 2025.

-Rookies Kevin McGonigle (No. 1) and Travis Bazzana (No. 21) both started the season ranked inside the top 25 prospects on Bleacher Report's Top 100 list, and they could be sharing the AL dugout at the All-Star Game for the next decade.

-The only lone team representative pick among pitchers is Aroldis Chapman, and he is a no-brainer selection regardless of roster restrictions. The 38-year-old flame-thrower has a 0.48 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 12.1 K/9 while converting all 12 of his save chances.

-Aside from Chapman and his eight career All-Star selections, Joe Ryan is the only other pitcher on the projected AL staff who has been chosen to an All-Star Game before.

-With a 2.29 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 70.2 innings, Nick Martinez has been one of the best signings of the offseason after joining the Rays on a one-year, $13 million deal in February. The 35-year-old would be the elder statesman on a staff of young upstarts.

-Shohei Ohtani will almost certainly be voted as the NL's starting designated hitter. The question is whether he will also be utilized on the mound where he has a 0.74 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 67 strikeouts in 61 innings as one of the best pitchers in baseball this year.

-Elly De La Cruz (hamstring) and Drake Baldwin (oblique) are both currently on the injured list, but expected to return well in advance of the All-Star break. Their strong starts to the year could still be enough to propel them to their first All-Star starts.

-First base in the National League will be one of the most compelling voting battles to watch, as Matt Olson, Bryce Harper and Freddie Freeman are all established veteran stars having All-Star caliber seasons.

-The fact that the Phillies are playing host to this year's All-Star festivities at Citizens Bank Park should make Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber locks for a spot on the roster.

-Outfielders Ian Happ (Cubs), Mickey Moniak (Rockies) and Jordan Walker (Cardinals) are the only picks for their respective clubs, which led to several notable snubs in the NL outfield, including Michael Harris II (Braves), Brandon Marsh (Phillies), Oneil Cruz (Pirates) and Pete Crow-Armstrong (Cubs).

-A glaring lack of All-Star worthy alternatives at third base could make Nolan Arenado a surprise pick for his ninth Midsummer Classic. The 35-year-old is hitting .263/.343/.453 for a 122 OPS+ with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 30 RBI in his first season with the D-backs following an offseason salary dump by the Cardinals.

-If the All-Star Game were today, the debate between Cristopher Sánchez (1.46 ERA, 103 K, 86.1 IP) and Jacob Misiorowski (1.65 ERA, 108 K, 71.0 IP) for NL starting pitcher honors would be a heated one. The edge would likely go to Sanchez who would be pitching in front of his home fans.

-Is this the year Raisel Iglesias finally makes his first All-Star Game? The 36-year-old has piled up 264 career saves and been one of baseball's top closers for the better part of a decade, but he has been consistently snubbed. With a 0.96 ERA, 10.6 K/9 and 11 saves in 11 chances, he has a strong case.

-Chase Burns (2.05 ERA, 81 K, 70.1 IP), Braxton Ashcraft (2.77 ERA, 81 K, 74.2 IP) and Kyle Harrison (1.57 ERA, 73 K, 57.1 IP) have been three of the biggest breakout pitchers of the 2026 season, and they all call the NL Central home.
