Predicting MLB All-Star 2026 Roster Selections For Every Team
With more than a month's worth of games done, it's time for an updated round of predictions for what the 2026 MLB All-Star Game rosters will look like when the baseball world converges on Philadelphia in July.
While our April 2 version of these predictions were based on expectations and reputation, we now have a large enough sample size to base these rosters on who is most deserving solely on 2026 production.
Using the 32-player roster format and sticking to the rule of selecting one player from each of the 30 teams, we have assembled our way-too-early 2026 AL and NL All-Star teams. For consistency, each roster consists of 20 position players and 12 pitchers.
Let the debate begin.
AL Starting Lineup

AL Starting Lineup
1. SS Kevin McGonigle, DET
2. CF Mike Trout, LAA
3. RF Aaron Judge, NYY
4. DH Yordan Alvarez, HOU
5. 1B Ben Rice, NYY
6. C Shea Langeliers, ATH
7. 3B Josh Jung, TEX
8. LF Chase DeLauter, CLE
9. 2B Ernie Clement, TOR
Notes
-The trio of Aaron Judge, Yordan Alvarez and a resurgent Mike Trout serve as the logical starting point for the AL starting lineup, and all three should carry significant voting support. Rookie Kevin McGonigle is also quickly separating himself from the pack among AL shortstops, hitting .315/.407/.477 for a 144 OPS+ with 2.1 WAR in 34 games.
-By far the thinnest position in either league is second base on the AL side. After an impressive run last postseason, Ernie Clement ranks seventh in the league with 39 hits, including 13 doubles. That's enough for him to get the starting nod over Jeff McNeil, Brayan Rocchio, Cole Young and others.
-It's been four years since Josh Jung started the All-Star Game as a rookie in 2022. After three seasons of injuries and inconsistent production, he is batting .325/.381/.535 for a 169 OPS+ in 126 plate appearances, making him the most productive third baseman in the AL by a solid margin.

AL Reserves
C Dillon Dingler, DET
1B Munetaka Murakami, CWS
1B Christian Walker, HOU
2B Jeff McNeil, ATH
3B Junior Caminero, TB
SS Bobby Witt Jr., KC
OF Wilyer Abreu, BOS
OF Cody Bellinger, NYY
OF Byron Buxton, MIN
OF Riley Greene, DET
UT Daniel Schneemann, CLE
Notes
-Munetaka Murakami has been an extreme three-true outcome player with 13 home runs, 27 walks and 50 strikeouts in 149 plate appearances, but the end result has still been a 151 OPS+ and a worthy All-Star case.
-The battle between established superstar Bobby Witt Jr. and standout rookie Kevin McGonigle will be one to watch in the balloting, though there's a good chance both shortstops will find their way onto the AL roster in some capacity. In this prediction, Witt is the Royals' only All-Star representative.
-While he may read as a strange inclusion at first glance, Daniel Schneemann is hitting .298/.366/.524 for a 147 OPS+ while also providing tremendous value with his versatility. The 29-year-old has started games at second base, shortstop, third base and in center field.

SP Max Fried, NYY
SP Kevin Gausman, TOR
SP Emerson Hancock, SEA
SP Nick Martinez, TB
SP Parker Messick, CLE
SP Cam Schlittler, NYY
SP José Soriano, LAA
SP Ranger Suárez, BOS
SP Gavin Williams, CLE
RP Aroldis Chapman, BOS
RP Rico Garcia, BAL
RP Louis Varland, TOR
Notes
-If the Midsummer Classic were played tomorrow, José Soriano would almost certainly be the AL's starting pitcher. The 27-year-old has been one of baseball's biggest breakout stars this season, posting a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 49 strikeouts in 42.2 innings while allowing a .164 opponents' batting average.
-Emerson Hancock (7 GS, 2.59 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 46 K, 41.2 IP) and Rico Garcia (16 G, 6 HLD, 0.61 ERA, 0.34 WHIP, 9.8 K/9) are the only picks for their respective teams, but they are worthy of All-Star recognition even outside of the one-per-team rule.
-The Yankees have the best starting pitching ERA in baseball with a 2.74 mark, and the one-two punch of Cam Schlittler (7 GS, 1.51 ERA, 0.74 WHIP, 49 K, 41.2 IP) and Max Fried (8 GS, 2.39 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 43 K, 52.2 IP) has led the charge. After the rotation looked like a potential weakness entering the year with so many notable injuries, it has turned out to be their biggest strength.

NL Starting Lineup
1. DH Shohei Ohtani, LAD
2. SS Elly De La Cruz, CIN
3. 1B Matt Olson, ATL
4. 3B Max Muncy, LAD
5. RF Jordan Walker, STL
6. LF Andy Pages, LAD
7. C Drake Baldwin, ATL
8. CF Michael Harris II, ATL
9. 2B Brice Turang, MIL
Notes
-It's hard to envision the NL starting lineup without Shohei Ohtani, and he's pitching well enough this season (5 GS, 0.60 ERA, 30.0 IP) to be both the starting pitcher and leadoff hitter like he was back in 2021.
-Jordan Walker, Andy Pages, Drake Baldwin, Michael Harris II and Brice Turang would all be first-time All-Star selections, giving the NL lineup a young, up-and-coming feel due to slow starts from so many established stars.
-At 35 years old, Max Muncy is putting together a career year, hitting .300/.394/.591 for a 175 OPS+ in 127 plate appearances. He started the All-Star Game as the designated hitter in 2021, but has never been voted to start by the fans.

C Liam Hicks, MIA

2B Ozzie Albies, ATL
2B Nico Hoerner, CHC
SS CJ Abrams, WAS
IF Ildemaro Vargas, ARI
OF Corbin Carroll, ARI
OF Ian Happ, CHC
OF Mickey Moniak, COL
OF James Wood, WAS
DH Kyle Schwarber, PHI
Notes
-Liam Hicks (112 PA, 157 OPS+, 10 XBH, 29 RBI) and Ildemaro Vargas (108 PA, .382 BA, 190 OPS+) were not on anyone's preseason All-Star radar, but both have put together impressive resumes. Now the question is whether they can sustain their unexpected production until July.
-Former No. 1 overall pick Mickey Moniak found a home with the Rockies last season when he posted a 116 OPS+ with 24 home runs. The 27-year-old is batting .327/.374/.724 with 11 home runs in 107 plate appearances, and looks like the Rockies' best candidate.
-The toughest snub on the NL roster might have been Oneil Cruz, who has raised his batting average 64 points this year while continuing to be a dynamic power/speed threat. His .359 BABIP speaks to some regression to come, but he remains one of the game's most exciting players.

SP Bryce Elder, ATL
SP Tyler Glasnow, LAD
SP Shota Imanaga, CHC
SP Nolan McLean, NYM
SP Jacob Misiorowski, MIL
SP Robbie Ray, SF
SP Chris Sale, ATL
SP Paul Skenes, PIT
RP Jhoan Durán, PHI
RP Mason Miller, SD
RP Riley O'Brien, STL
Notes
-Nolan McLean (Mets), Robbie Ray (Giants), Paul Skenes (Pirates) and Mason Miller (Padres) are the only representatives for their respective teams, though none feel out of place on an All-Star roster. Keep an eye on Landon Roupp as a candidate to edge out Ray in San Francisco.
-With a 2.20 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 41.0 innings, Chase Burns has been huge for the Reds, stepping into the staff ace role while Hunter Greene is sidelined. With a fastball that averages 98.1 mph and a slider that is generating a 49.6 percent whiff rate, he has some of the best pure stuff in baseball.
-The Braves starting rotation looked like a glaring hole when the season started, but Chris Sale (7 GS, 2.14 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 49 K, 42.0 IP) and Bryce Elder (7 GS, 1.88 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 36 K, 43.0 IP) lead a group that ranks third in the majors with a 3.17 ERA.
