Arsenal's Season Week One: Gunners on Song
Arsenal got their Champions League campaign off to a perfect start on Tuesday night, winning 2-0 against last season's SPL runners-up, Celtic. In doing so, they became the first English team to win at Celtic Park in 26 years.
The last team to silence the home crowd were Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in what is now known as the Europa League.
The Gunners broke a second record in as many games, as last weekend saw Arsene Wenger's young guns knock off Everton 6-1 at Goodison Park to record the EPL's biggest ever opening-day win.

Robin Van Persie puts the team's fantastic start to the season down to the squad's newfound togetherness and believes it could propel the Gunners onto bigger and better things. Speaking to Arsenal's official Web site, Robin said:
"I think we showed in both games that we really want to fight for each other, and if we can produce that every three or four days, we can make a big step forward. Hopefully then we can have a great season."
Many people are pointing to the new central defensive partnership of Thomas Vermaelen and William Gallas as the reason for Arsenal's recent form. Both have been impressive in the first two games of the season, notching three goals between them whilst looking extremely assured at the back.
Vermaelen attributes the promising start to his Arsenal career to his partner at the back.
“He is very experienced,” the 23-year-old Belgian told Arsenal.com. “For me it’s much easier to play in a side with him because of that. I have already learned a lot from him."
Arsenal's new formation appears to be working quite well, suiting Arsenal's passing game, with Alexandre Song and Cesc Fabregas excelling in particular.
The only current downside is that the current front three (Nicklas Bendtner, Van Persie, and Andrei Arshavin), whilst doing some excellent work by defending from the front, are finding chances hard to come by, with none of them finding the net so far.
This may well change at the weekend, with the visit of Portsmouth to the Emirates Stadium, which sees the Gunners turn out in front of their own fans for the first time this season.
Paul Hart's team are struggling for form going into this game with two losses in their opening two games. One-nil losses to both Fulham and newly promoted Birmingham City point to another Arsenal demolition job on Saturday.
All this compounded by the uncertainty at Fratton Park with the apparent recent collapse of their proposed takeover leads me to believe that Arsenal's strikers will find the net sooner rather than later.
