WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from March 11

Erik BeastonMar 12, 2015

Alex Riley's road back to the squared circle after a two-year absence was the dominant story of Wednesday night's episode of NXT, as the Washington, D.C., native battled CJ Parker in an attempt to impress general manager William Regal enough to earn a match with NXT champion Kevin Owens.

The intensity and passion of Riley was never more evident as tears flowed freely following his victory over Parker and the tremendous response given to him by the NXT Universe.

A consummate professional even when things were at their bleakest, Riley finally had his opportunity to return to television as a wrestler, and he showed just how much it meant to him.

But Riley was not the night's only winner. Several other NXT Superstars and Divas had a good night, even if the show is in somewhat of a holding pattern as it awaits the official start of its build to the next two-hour live special.

Who were those individuals? And which stars were the unfortunate losers from Wednesday's broadcast?

Find out for yourself with this look back at the March 11 episode of NXT.

Winner: Tyler Breeze

One of the biggest disappointments in NXT as 2014 came to an end was the use of Tyler Breeze, who went from being top contender to the brand's championship to getting lost in the shuffle. It even looked like, at one point, he would be stuck feuding with the green Marcus Louis.

Then, at Takeover: Rival, he squared off with Hideo Itami in a great match to kick off that show. Breeze lost, but at least he was back in the mix, working with one of the premier talents in the industry.

That continued Wednesday, when he not only met Itami in a rematch from that show but defeated the international star with the Beauty Shot.

It remains to be seen exactly what awaits Breeze in the coming weeks and months, but the win should be an indicator that, after months of floating aimlessly and working live events, Breeze is back in the thick of things when it comes to the NXT Championship.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has a bright future ahead of her, both as an in-ring competitor and role model for young girls in the audience.

Wednesday night, she got a much-deserved victory, defeating Carmella in singles action.

While the match was nowhere near the quality of the recent wars involving Sasha Banks and Charlotte, Bliss looked crisp between the ropes, hitting everything on point and scoring the win with an impressive finish.

That the commentators spent the majority of the contest putting her over ahead of her match with Banks on next week's show only helped to make her look like the star of the two, even though Carmella has spent the last two months in the spotlight.

Speaking of the Princess of Staten Island...

Loser: Carmella

It was not that long ago that Carmella looked to be the next big breakout star of the NXT Divas division. The fans, however, did not embrace her quite the way NXT officials would have liked, and she became a heel while paired with the insanely over babyface duo of Enzo Amore and "Big Cass" Colin Cassady.

This week, she was not only conspicuous by her absence as Amore and Cassady knocked off the Lucha Dragons, but she suffered only her second defeat, dropping a match to Bliss.

Does this mean that opinions on Carmella have changed? Unlikely. It does mean, however, that officials are listening to the audience and recognize that they may have to go in a different direction with the performer than they originally intended.

If for no other reason than her loss to Bliss, that makes Carmella the biggest loser of this week's show.
