Pence Activated from DL
Saturday, May 16
The Giants announced they activated Pence from the disabled list ahead of Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. They also optioned Hector Sanchez to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.
Giants beat writer Andrew Baggarly provided the team's full lineup:
Pence, an anchor in the heart of the San Francisco order, hit .277 last season with 20 home runs, 74 RBI and 13 stolen bases. He made the All-Star team and also helped carry the Giants to the championship with a .333 postseason batting average.
San Francisco entered Saturday at 18-18, third place in the National League West. Now that Pence is ready to return, he should provide an added spark to the offense.
