Patterson Out vs. Pelicans
Monday, Feb. 23
The Raptors' official media relations Twitter account provided the details on Patterson's status for the Pelicans game:
Patterson is a prominent role player with a unique skill set that won't be easily replaced. The 25-year-old former Kentucky standout serves as a capable stretch-4 with a shooting percentage of 40.2 from beyond the arc on 3.5 attempts per contest.
In addition to being an exceptional three-point marksman, Patterson can crash the boards and provide hustle plays to help Toronto's second unit. Without Patterson in the lineup, a unique dimension of the Raptors' multifaceted offense will be missing.
The hope is that Patterson's knee sprain isn't too severe, because several formidable teams are chasing Toronto for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
