Report: Green Has Interest in Joining Pistons

According to sources cited by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Green has "significant interest" in pursuing an offer sheet from the Detroit Pistons this summer:
"Green has loved playing with the Warriors and winning, and naturally Golden State is determined to find a way to retain him. Still, the Warriors' salary structure almost dictates that Green has to go onto the market and get an offer sheet for them to match in July.
If the offer is too rich to match, the chance for Green to return to his beloved home state – where he grew up in Saginaw and played at Michigan State in East Lansing – has long intrigued him, sources said.
"
Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News reported the Warriors are prepared to match 'any offer Draymond gets'.
Green would later comment on the report, via Diamond Leung of the Mercury News:
His worth to Golden State is clear.
The third-year pro is averaging career highs in points (11.1), rebounds (8.3), assists (3.6), steals (1.6), blocks (1.4) and minutes (32.0). He is most impressive on defense, where he can guard—and shut down—almost any position.
The energetic, do-everything forward leads the NBA in defensive win shares, per basketball-reference.com, and has been a critical part to the Warriors' transcendence this season.
According to Wojnarowski, Detroit—who may lose Greg Monroe to free agency—or any other potential suitor may offer Green close to a max contract. That means the Warriors would need to find a way to rid themselves of David Lee's $15.5 million 2015 salary in order to match the offer sheet for the restricted free agent.
Expect Golden State to do everything in its power to keep the 24-year-old, as a trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green makes them very good for a very long time.
Still, it's becoming clear it won't be cheap to do so.
