Bell Expected to Be Suspended for First Two Games of 2015
Wednesday, Feb. 11
ESPN.com reported on Wednesday that Bell is expected to be suspended for the first two games of the 2015 NFL season as a result of his arrest in August on marijuana charges.
The report added that "Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert acknowledged Tuesday that the team will be prepared if Bell receives a suspension."
On Tuesday, Bob Labriola of Steelers.com passed along Colbert's comments on Bell's potential suspension:
Bell Enters Court Ordered Rehab for Marijuana

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell made a huge mistake last summer when he was arrested for marijuana possession and driving under the influence, but he now has an opportunity to put that behind him.
According to Paula Reed Ward of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 2014 Pro Bowler was admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, which will result in the marijuana charges against him being dismissed, provided he completes 15 months of probation; it also prohibits him from using drugs or alcohol.
Bell must also pay court fees, and his driver's license will be suspended for two months.
Although the matter is in the past, as long as Bell follows his probation, attorney Robert Del Greco expects possible disciplinary action from the NFL, per Reed Ward: "I cannot predict the outcome, but the guidelines would suggest maybe a one- or two-game suspension."
According to Ed Bouchette and Lexi Belculfine of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Bell was arrested along with former Steelers and current New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount in August.
Following the incident, Bell was apologetic for his actions, per ESPN.com's Scott Brown: "It's a mistake that obviously [I] can't do it again. It's something I definitely regret doing but I apologized to my teammates for it."
Bell moved on from that miscue quickly by turning in a career-best season that saw him rack up over 2,000 total yards and 11 touchdowns.
That type of production endeared him to Steelers fans and his teammates, but he has an opportunity to truly show remorse for the arrest by following the terms of his probation.
Provided he does that, there is no doubt that he has an extremely bright NFL future ahead of him at just 22 years of age.
