Len Sprains Ankle vs. Trail Blazers
Thursday, Feb. 5
TNT's Rachel Nichols had the report:
AZCentral.com's Paul Coro added more after the game:
Len rolled his ankle early in the third quarter after being fouled by Blazer center Robin Lopez on a dunk attempt. In a scary scene, Len writhed on the floor in pain before getting to his feet and knocking down the free throw. Len then exited the game when Eric Bledsoe committed an intentional foul to get a stoppage.
Ascending into a full-time starter role in his second season, Len has become an increasingly integral piece of Phoenix's rotation. He's averaging 6.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, numbers that have risen as he's received more playing time. Opponents have shot 52.4 percent against Len at the rim, per NBA.com, a below-average number that's nonetheless superior to Miles Plumlee's.
Plumlee, whom Len replaced in the starting lineup, will see extended minutes as it appears Len's injury will him out through the All-Star break.
