Andrew Luck Breaks Peyton Manning's Single-Season Passing Yards Record for Colts

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Andrew Luck in 2012 with the hope he would breed the type of success Peyton Manning did when he was under center. While Luck is still seeking a Super Bowl, he surpassed Manning's single-season Colts record for passing yards on Sunday.

A lot of teams spend years looking for a franchise quarterback. The Colts went from Manning to Luck almost instantly, though it took a disastrous 2-14 season in 2011 to get there. Luck has led Indianapolis to the playoffs in each of his three seasons in the NFL.

Like Manning early in his career, postseason success has evaded Luck. He did guide the Colts to a huge comeback win against Kansas City in last year's Wild Card Round, but his team was then eliminated in the divisional round by the New England Patriots. The former Stanford standout will look to turn the momentum from his record-breaking regular season into a deep playoff run in January. 

As Indianapolis continues to add weapons around its star quarterback, there's little doubt Luck will continue to prosper for many seasons to come.
