John Wall Capitalizes on 4-Point Play, Resurrects Antoine Walker Shimmy
John Wall made Antoine Walker and ODB proud Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards guard pulled up and banked in a contested triple over Kobe Bryant during his team’s 111-95 banishing of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The combination of a generous roll and contact from Bryant resulted in Wall on the ground, realizing he had an opportunity for a four-point play. It was then that a strange, ancestral spirit of the hardwood creeped into Wall’s right shoulder and began to squirm.
Channeling his inner Antoine Walker, Wall began to shimmy.
If you are unfamiliar with Walker’s shimmy, just know that it’s perhaps the greatest celebration to ever become extinct in the NBA.
It’s a fitting gesture from Wall, who, unlike Walker, doesn’t live and die from behind the arc. Walker would’ve chucked 12 three-pointers into the Sibley Memorial waiting room during this game. Wall, however, settled for a (high-ish) five three-point attempts from behind the arc against Los Angeles.
This four-point play, which he did complete, was his only made triple of the night.
Also, kudos to Bryant for helping Wall to his feet after the basket. That alone is high praise from the Mamba.
