David Ortiz, who played with the Minnesota Twins earlier in his career, was released by the Twins due to knee problems. His knee problems went away after his signed a contract with Boston in 2003, might have gotten a little help from a banned substance.

After signing a two year 14 million dollar contract with Boston, him and Ramirez led the Red Sox to the ALCS in '03, and then later won it in '04 and '07, ending the 86 year drought in Boston.

Big Papi's first year in Boston (2003), he hit 31 homers and batted in 101 RBI. From there he become a dominant force and one of the most clutch hitters of All-Time.

Oritz broke Boston's single season HR record in 2006 when he blasted 56 homers.

Big Papi has had some struggles early this season, and really hasn't been putting up the same numbers has he did in the World Series years, hopefully that has nothing to do with his drug use.

Ortiz is a 4-time Sliver Slugger Award Winner and 5-time All-Star, and it is a shame to see on of baseball's greatest post-season heroes names being linked to performance enhancing drugs.

Hopefully this reports won't tant any of Boston's World Series wins because every club is made up of 25 players, but Ortiz did have some pretty amazing clutch walk-off hits in the greatest ALCS comeback ever in 2004.

But does using performance enhancing drugs make you clutch?
