Rangers Reportedly Agree to New Contracts with GM Jon Daniels and Thad Levine
The Texas Rangers suffered through their worst season in 20 years, but that hasn't diminished the team's confidence in its top two executives.
According to sources cited by CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, general manager Jon Daniels and top assistant GM Thad Levine have both been given multi-year contract extensions.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The timing may seem a bit odd considering the disastrous 2014 campaign, but the Rangers were absolutely ravaged by injuries last year. Key offseason addition Prince Fielder played just 42 games. Former top prospect Jurickson Profar missed the entire season. Shin-Soo Choo, Yu Darvish, Alex Rios and several others dealt with significant injuries.
"It was an aberration more than a fluke," Daniels said about the season, via ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins. "When you look back in 10 years, you will not see 2014 as the start of the norm for us.”
Owner Ray Davis clearly judged Daniels and Levine by their larger body of work when making this decision. Since coming to Texas in 2005, the duo has helped build a talented roster, taking the Rangers to the World Series twice in the last five years.
With the pair of bright baseball minds remaining at the helm, it won't take long for a turnaround in Texas.
