Jerry Jones Comments on Tony Romo's Future with Cowboys
Even though Tony Romo's status for Week 10 against Jacksonville isn't clear, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has the present and future planned out for his star quarterback.
Speaking to David Moore of The Dallas Morning News, Jones said he "is anticipating" Romo will be playing on Sunday and that his career will last at least five more years:
"I think Tony Romo has at least five years. I’m planning on him at least five years of playing at a level that would allow us to be a possible contender. ...
I’m aware of his back. Only God knows what is in store for his back. I’ve seen backs out there that you wouldn’t believe how they look on the MRIs and how they look on X-rays. Those never impacted careers at all.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Later, Jones added that Romo has told him about "potentially being an offensive coordinator" after his playing days are over.
It's no secret that Jones values Romo very highly. While the Cowboys haven't always been contenders with Romo under center, there's no denying that he's one of the better quarterbacks in the league and finally has a quality team around him.
However, Jones is tempting fate by talking about Romo playing another five years. He's 34 years old, has a history of back problems and is currently dealing with yet another injury to that part of his body. As we saw in the Washington game, one wrong hit can change everything.
