Rodney Stuckey Injury: Updates on Pacers Guard's Foot and Return
In a season where the Indiana Pacers are already without one of their biggest stars, the hits just keep coming. Guard Rodney Stuckey will reportedly miss at least the next three games due to a left foot injury.
The Pacers' official Twitter account passed along the news from coach Frank Vogel:
Stuckey, 28, has averaged 8.8 points and 2.5 assists per game this season in a reserve role through four contests. Those numbers include 16 points and five assists against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Already without Paul George due to a broken leg, going without Stuckey for an extended period would further hinder the offense. Michael Gallagher of NBC Sports notes the immediate impact Stuckey's loss will have on the defense as well:
The loss of Stuckey obviously isn't as crucial as George's injury, but his production is a necessity for the depth of the Pacers. Whether it's on defense or his offensive numbers, Indy will need other members to step up throughout the rest of the week.
Already without George Hill and David West, per Autumn Allison of the Indianapolis Star, Indiana continues to lose crucial players. In an already tough season for the Pacers, being without Stuckey is another blow to an East contender last year.
