Takeaways from Social Chatter of Pittsburgh Steelers' Win over Baltimore Ravens

Jesse PantuoscoNov 3, 2014

Whenever the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers play, it’s bound to get chippy. In that sense, Sunday’s prime-time game did not disappoint.

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs set the tone early with this vicious hit on LeGarrette Blount:

Suggs was flagged 15 yards for unnecessary roughness. Former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch and Sports Illustrated football analyst Doug Farrar didn't think that was enough:

To combat Suggs, the Steelers used an enforcer of their own in former Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison. The five-time Pro Bowler had no problem getting in Joe Flacco’s grill for this hit:

Actor and pro wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was quick to jump on Harrison's bandwagon:

Maybe Harrison will give Flacco the People’s Elbow next time. Either way, it was an impressive performance by a player who wasn't even in the league until late September.

NFL on ESPN seemed pretty pumped about it:

Harrison said the following in an interview with NBC’s Michele Tafoya after the game, via Sports Illustrated’s Chris Burke:

But the physical play didn't stop there. Things got so rough that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger thought his jaw might fall off at one point:

Roethlisberger still threw for 340 yards and six touchdowns. It was the second game in a row in which Big Ben threw six TDs. If that doesn't impress you, here’s something that should, via NFL on ESPN:

You could make an argument that Roethlisberger has put together two of the best fantasy weeks in recent memory. Here to make that argument is ESPN fantasy analyst Matthew Berry:

Of course, it doesn't hurt to have one of the hottest receivers in football at your disposal. This 54-yard missile to Antonio Brown put Pittsburgh up 29-10 with 14 minutes and one second remaining in the fourth quarter:

Fox’s Katie Nolan was a big fan of the stiff-arm:

Speaking of Brown, the 26-year-old is on pace for 1,771 receiving yards, which would be a new Steelers record. Some people are calling him the best receiver in the NFL. ESPN's Skip Bayless is one of those people:

Even if you put Calvin Johnson ahead of Brown, you have to acknowledge Brown's impeccable dance moves:

Having Mean Joe Greene in attendance must have given the Steelers some inspiration. Greene had his No. 75 retired at halftime. According to ESPN’s SportsCenter, he’s the second Steelers player to receive that honor:

Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel paid tribute to Greene by wearing his jersey after the game, via Steelers on Twitter:

In the end, Pittsburgh rolled to an easy 43-23 victory, moving into second place in the AFC North. It was a tough night for Baltimore, but at least Suggs got to rock out on his air guitar:
