
5 Most Impressive Liga MX Players for October
The 2014 Apertura tournament is getting close to its end, and as the clubs fight for a place in the Liguilla, their players strive for perfection.
October was a month in which America secured their spot in the playoff, while Leon reminded everybody they still have what it takes to put any team in distress.
We also saw the return of key figures, like Mariano Pavone, and the fantastic display of consistency from some of the most veteran footballers in the league, such as Oscar Perez.
Let's take a look at the five most impressive players of the month.
5. Oscar Perez (Pachuca)

At age 41 Oscar Perez is the second-oldest player of the Liga MX, but he has proven to be one of the best goalkeepers of the 2014 Apertura.
Perez is an undisputed starter with Pachuca, and in October he only allowed one goal, less than any other keeper.
El Conejo had three clean sheets in four appearances, had 100 percent claim success and made an average of 10 saves per goal, according to Squawka.
His leadership has been instrumental in organizing the defense, which has had some of the most promising Mexican footballers, like Miguel Angel Herrera and Rodolfo Pizarro.
4. Mariano Pavone (Cruz Azul)

Mariano Pavone had a shaky start in the 2014 Apertura. After nine games he had only scored once and his shot accuracy equaled 41 percent, as per Squawka.
However, Pavone went back to his old self in October. The Cruz Azul forward put the ball away three times from Matchday 11 to 14, while he doubled his shot accuracy ratio.
Pavone netted in the 4-0 victory to America, as well as in the 3-1 win over Morelia; The latter of which he put the ball away twice.
The last time he scored a brace was during the 2013 Clausura, where he accomplished the feat vs. Leon, Atlante and Morelia.
3. Mauro Boselli (Leon)

Leon is slowly recovering from their worst season since the 2002 Verano, but Mauro Boselli hasn't stopped scoring.
The forward shares the second place of the top scorers' table with nine goals to his name, four of them in the past four weeks.
Boselli scored twice with the head and once with each foot, as reported by Squawka. His ability to step into the box and leave the defenders behind has been fundamental in Leon's three-week winning streak.
The Argentinean needs seven more goals to tie his best season since he arrived in Mexico. He put the ball away 16 times during the 2013 Clausura.
2. Camilo Sanvezzo (Queretaro)

Behold the 2014 Apertura top scorer.
Camilo Sanvezzo has played all 14 matchdays of the tournament and he has netted 10 times so far, three of them against Leon (Week 12) and America (Week 14).
Squawka reports in that period the Brazilian also created three goal opportunities, including an assist.
He is lethal when he attacks through the center and left flank of the pitch, but he also helps the defense whenever he can. In October he registered two clearances, one block and one interception.
He secured Queretaro's sole victory of the month with a late-minute goal vs. Las Aguilas, at Estadio Corregidora.
1. Ariel Nahuelpan (Pachuca)

If you thought Mauro Boselli had done a brilliant job in October, just wait and see what Pachuca footballer Ariel Nahuelpan accomplished.
He put the ball away four times in four weeks, plus he created two goal opportunities and had 82 percent shot accuracy, as reported by Squawka.
His goals came in the victories against Morelia (1-0) and Chiapas (2-0), as well as in the draw vs. UNAM (1-1).
All of his goals signified points for Pachuca, seven out of eight the squad secured from Matchday 11 to 14.
