Run production may have slowed down in the majors this season, but there are still some red hot ‘over’ teams in the bigs! Which teams are knocking the ball out of the yard and struggling with their arms? Here’s BetUS Sportsbook’s list of the top ‘over’ teams for MLB bettors in the L/5 days!

Washington Nationals v Los Angeles Angels
New York Yankees v. Chicago Cubs

1: Oakland Athletics (41-50-1) (3-2 in L/5) The A’s have played in some wild games since coming back from the All-Star Break. Yes, they’ve played in two total pitcher’s duels (3-2 yesterday against Minnesota and 1-0 three days ago against Anaheim), but they’ve also played some utterly ridiculous games as well. An 11-6 defeat on Saturday was marred by four errors by the boys in green, but the wildest of the wild came on Monday. In spite of the facts that SP Gio Gonzalez gave up a whopping 11 runs in 2.2 innings and that they were down 12-2 after the Twinkies plated four runs in the top of the third, the Athletics clawed their way back into the game with two in the 4th and a touchdown’s worth of runs in the seventh to win 14-13. Give Oakland this much… at least its fans aren’t bored at the ballpark.

2: Chicago Cubs (39-50-3) (3-2 in L/5) The Cubs put up a whopping 26 runs in four games against the Nationals out of the All-Star Break, but have only scored one run in each of their first two games against the Phillies. However, thanks to a pitching staff which has given up 22 runs over its L/4, Chicago finds itself on the list of hot teams for ‘over’ bettors once again this week. It’s pretty apparent that the Cubs need to make a move and make it soon to stay alive in the playoff race in the hotly contested NL Central, but was getting 3B Aramis Ramirez off of the DL enough? He’s batting just .190 with one homer and two RBIs in his first 11 games back from the disabled list, which just isn’t going to get it done at this level.

3: Los Angeles Dodgers (44-43-7) (3-2 in L/5) Even though the Dodgers still have the #1 pitching staff in baseball, they’re still in the Roy Halladay hunt. Putting together a staff that features Halladay, Clayton Kershaw, and Chad Billingsley would just be frightening beyond belief, especially considering the fact that the four biggest arms in the bullpen all have sub-3.50 ERAs. Closer Jonathan Broxton is 23 for 25 this year in save opportunities. Why are the boys from Dodgertown on this list of hot ‘over’ teams, then? Look no further than an offense which averages 5.02 runs per game and has thrown 28 runs on the board in the L/4 days. In those four games, LF Manny Ramirez is batting .363 with three extra base hits, four ribbies, and a .462 OBP. The rest of baseball had better take notice. Manny is back, and the Dodgers are going to be one of the toughest teams to get rid of in the playoffs whether Halladay is on their staff or not.
