Analysing the Impact of Ronaldinho After Opening Matches for Queretaro
Ronaldinho arrived in Queretaro last month and has appeared three times with Gallos Blancos ever since. But how is he doing so far? Let's find out.
Copa MX
The Brazilian debuted in this tournament. He started the first leg against UANL on home soil. Ronaldinho had the chance to tie the score in the 62nd minute, but he missed a penalty kick.

Despite it all, his performance was good. He moved constantly from the midfield to the box and distributed the ball accurately.
He completed the match but couldn't help his team in the score. Overall, the Brazilian offered several interesting plays; however, it was evident that he wasn't used to the squad.
He didn't travel to Monterrey for the second leg, where Queretaro lost (1-0) and were eliminated from the competition.
Liga MX
Four days later he scored his first goal of the 2014 Apertura; he did it from the penalty mark.
The real magic came in the second half when he assisted Camilo Sanvezzo. Let's take a look:
First he receives the ball.

Then he takes a look and realizes that a through ball would give Sanvezzo advantage over the defenders.

He sends the pass.

Sanvezzo faces the goalkeeper and scores.

Along came Toluca. Ronaldinho didn't score, but once again he became a thriving force for the team. He showed his dribbling skills and creativity in the last third of the box.
He spent 77 minutes in the pitch, in which he made four shots, created one goal opportunity from the left side of the pitch and completed 26 passes, for an average accuracy of 77 percent.
His unbalancing moves and fine touch were fundamental in Queretaro's one-goal draw to the Diablos Rojos.
Little by little the Brazilian is proving he still has what it takes to surprise the rivals. During Matchday 11 he put the ball away with a fantastic long-distance shot that left Federico Vilar with no options.
Conclusion
There is no doubt that Ronaldinho is adapting to his team. The ease with which he changes the pace and baffles the opponents is something that we hardly ever see in the Liga MX, and it will be helpful for the tournament.
The defenders will cover more fiercely; the midfielders will keep the ball longer and will find more effective ways to pass it to the forwards.
Ronaldinho's arrival has been key for Gallos Blancos in different fronts.
For starters, the club lacked creativity and there wasn't a real link between the midfield and the attacking zone. Dinho took that role immediately, proving that the squad had a lot more potential than expected.
Most of the times Queretaro lost the ball when passing. In the games in which the Brazilian has appeared, the accuracy hasn't been lower than 83 percent, against Guadalajara it equaled 90 percent, better than in any other matchday.
His mobility in the last third of the pitch has also been refreshing, as he has allowed his teammates to try their chances from different parts of the pitch, especially through the center, from where Queretaro have scored five of their last six goals.
Coach Ignacio Ambriz has also changed his formation since the Brazilian's debut. The former Mexico international went from his usual 4-4-2, to a 4-3-3, which has given Gallos Blancos dynamism, and has allowed Ronaldinho to move freely in the attacking zone.
This is just the beginning of a bright era, not only for Dinho, but also for Queretaro. Meanwhile the fans can rejoice with his greatness.
