A Feud Between John Cena and Dean Ambrose Is Inevitable
John Cena and Dean Ambrose crossed paths on the September 22 edition of Monday Night Raw. Each man was out for revenge against Seth Rollins, who has been in an intense rivalry with Ambrose and essentially cost Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.
While Cena and Ambrose were on the same page during Raw and wanted nothing more than to get at Rollins, many fans are likely wondering how long this uneasy alliance will last. Indeed, it could very well be that a feud between Ambrose and Cena is inevitable.
Fans are aware of the history that exists between Cena and Rollins. After all, WWE's top guy had his share of problems with The Shield and was one of the several babyfaces to stand up against the very powerful faction. The Hounds of Justice ran over everyone placed in their path, and for the better part of nearly two years, they were practically untouchable.

But Cena is the standard-bearer for Vince McMahon's company, and as such, he had to be on the front lines against Rollins and his crew.

So, Rollins and Cena are no strangers to each other, and the history between them would have been enough to draw from for a current rivalry. However, given what happened at Night of Champions, there is even more reason for them to feud.
Cena appeared to have been very close to defeating Brock Lesnar on September 21, and that win would have given him his 16th World Championship. Only Ric Flair can lay claim to that distinction, and thanks to Rollins, it's still his own. Cena lost at Night of Champions and he has every reason to blame The Shield's architect for it.
But if Cena wants vengeance against Rollins, he must get in line behind Ambrose.
Ambrose suffered just a taste of the pain he had been inflicting while running with The Shield on June 2. It was on that night that Rollins betrayed both he and Roman Reigns, effectively dismantling The Hounds of Justice. And when that happened, Ambrose declared war.
He and Rollins had several run-ins over the course of the next two months. Every time it seemed as though Rollins was finally going to be put down, he managed to escape. Ambrose was left with empty hands and his thirst for revenge.

Rollins is a marked man, and in addition to a lunatic on his trail, he now has to deal with WWE's biggest Superstar.
However, all may not be lost for Rollins. The fact is Cena and Ambrose may appear to be sharing the same focus, but that may not last long. Right now they are mere inches away from each other and all it may take is just a nudge in the right direction for them to eventually make contact.
And the fact is it's inevitable.
Ambrose's character is borderline heel. He answers to no one, he does what he wants when he wants, and he will stop at nothing to get revenge despite who may get hurt in the crossfire. He does everything but curse the fans, and at this point, even that may not prevent him from popping the arena every time he's in the ring.
Fans love The Lunatic Fringe, and his pop is just growing more and more with each passing week.
But part of his gimmick is the fact that he is very unpredictable. Cena's stature likely means nothing to him, nor does the pecking order of which he is not fully established as a singles star just yet. The truth is that Ambrose is still working to earn his place as a main-event Superstar.
And he may eventually come to believe that Cena is standing in his way.
Rollins belongs to Ambrose; the two men are meant to fight it out, and Ambrose deserves the opportunity to shut Rollins down. By adding himself to the equation, Cena is asking for trouble. Rollins may have crossed Cena, but Ambrose may not care very much about that at all.
The only thing that Ambrose sees is red, and the only target he has is Rollins. But if Cena gets in his way, he could become a problem.
And if that happens, Ambrose will turn his attention to WWE's top guy.
From a real-world standpoint, this could be very crucial to building the legacy of Ambrose. Again, he is still working to establishing himself as a main-event talent apart from The Shield. A win over Cena or perhaps even just a great showing against him would go a very long way to making that happen.

Of course, there is the very real possibility that Ambrose would get over on Cena thanks to the crowd. It's no secret that fans are mixed when it comes to Cena. The love-hate relationship that exists between the two sides is the stuff of legend at this point.
Putting a red-hot Ambrose in front of Cena could expose that relationship even more, which may be something that WWE would want to stay away from. However, there may be no other choice.
Reigns is out of action for the next several weeks, Chris Jericho is gone once again and Daniel Bryan is still out with an injury. The main-event talent pool is perhaps the thinnest it has been in a very long time. Aside from feuding with Randy Orton or even Lesnar again, there could be very little for Cena to do in terms of a heated rivalry with another top name.
That top name could be Ambrose. And if it happened, it could be very good for Ambrose's immediate career.
The truth is that Ambrose is already over, and working Cena could only help him. A feud between them would not need to last long, as Rollins is still in the picture. But the longer that Ambrose and Cena share the same air, the bigger the chance that they will come to blows.
Cena vs. Ambrose is inevitable. The only issue is how long it will be until it finally happens.
