All Star Fan Fest A Cluster Of Wasteful Spending
Today represents a return to normalcy in Baseball-St. Louis. The All Star Game and its accompanying hoopla is but a memory and the Cardinals are back on the road for a three game series in Houston after taking two of three against the hapless Diamondbacks at Busch this past weekend.
Even so, there is one more element to the hometown hosting an All Star Game that went unnoticed in our pinata of stories last week, that being the All Star Fan Fest.
In a nutshell, the All Star Game Fan Fest is a crock of nonsense and expensive bologna. Unless you’re under the age of seven, you probably won’t have fun at one of these things. The visuals can be seen online through search engines, the merchandise can likely be bought in a similar fashion and the only real “exclusive” to the event is getting an autograph from a Hall of Famer.

The following video is a quick-hit montage of the things I saw last Saturday, July 11, in and around America’s Center, site of the All Star Fan Fest. It might leave you with more questions than answers and that’s okay… because I left shaking my head that people were paying 30 bucks a ticket to get inside an All Star event that houses nothing but more opportunities to spend more money.
