Brock Lesnar and John Cena Ready for Night of Champions Clash
After weeks of build following their match at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar and John Cena are set to clash in the main event at Night of Champions. The Beast Incarnate destroyed Cena a month ago to become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion. Despite how one-sided that bout was, Cena has been defiant and insisted he will get his revenge against one of the most dominant stars in the history of WWE.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who Will Leave NoC as World Champion?
Monday's edition of Raw marked the first time that Lesnar and Cena were in the ring together since SummerSlam. Lesnar saved Paul Heyman from a beating at the hands of Cena, which resulted in the two combatants brawling. Lesnar immediately put down Cena with a German suplex—a move the Conquerer hit 16 times at SummerSlam. Cena was resilient this time, though, and he got back up and took the fight to Lesnar.
In a logical display of booking, the leader of the Cenation got the upper hand heading into Night of Champions. Even though Cena has had unprecedented success in WWE, there is no question that he needed to pick up some momentum before the pay-per-view. Cena is still the decided underdog at Night of Champions, based on what happened at SummerSlam, but WWE did manage to create a bit of doubt by making Cena look much closer to Lesnar's equal than he did previously.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Since Cena has been the top guy for so long, the assumption is almost always that he'll find a way to overcome adversity and reign supreme. With that said, Cena has already been world champion 15 times and there is essentially nothing left for him to do in that spot beside turn heel. That won't be happening at Night of Champions or any time soon, so giving Lesnar another win is the most sensible option.
Not everyone has been quick to embrace another part-time champion, but it is tough to argue against the notion that Lesnar has made the world title feel special because of his aura. Even though Lesnar doesn't appear on every show and may not be able to compete at every pay-per-view, he brings something different to the table and opens up a ton of possibilities.
In Lesnar, WWE seems to realize that it has a huge draw at its disposal, and it is quite clear that giving Lesnar a second win over Cena would be the best business move. Having Lesnar lose would erase the amazing build he has received since WrestleMania, and there is very little chance of that happening.

Breaking Down Night of Champions Undercard
Lesnar and Cena will have to come through in a big way in order for Night of Champions to be a successful event, but the rest of the card could deliver as well. While the build hasn't been ideal for many of the matches, any wrestling fan can most definitely see the potential Night of Champions has to be excellent from an in-ring perspective.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Does the Card Look on Paper?
Aside from Lesnar vs. Cena, perhaps the biggest match on the card is Roman Reigns going up against Seth Rollins in a battle of former Shield partners. That certainly has the potential to be a show stealer, but WWE made the bizarre decision to give that match away on Raw. Since they have already locked horns in a one-on-one situation, the excitement level of many fans probably isn't as high as it otherwise would have been.
Also, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton will resume their longstanding feud at the pay-per-view. The Jericho vs. Orton angle came from out of left field to some degree, but they are veteran workers who know how to put on great matches. This also figures to be the final match of Y2J's current run with WWE, so he will lay it all on the line to put on a show for the fans. Because of that, Jericho and Orton are also candidates to put on the best match of the night.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
The best aspect of Night of Champions is the fact that every single title is on the line. In addition to Lesnar vs. Cena, the Miz will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro will take on Sheamus for the United States Championship, the Usos and the team of Goldust and Stardust will do battle for the Tag Team Championship and Paige, AJ Lee and Nikki Bella will go at it in a Triple Threat match for the Divas Championship.
On top of all that, Mark Henry will represent the United States of America in a match against Russia's Rusev. A few of those matches have been built fairly well since SummerSlam, but not every feud has received the time needed to make the audience care.
That said, each and every match on the card has the potential to be legitimately entertaining. That has been true of many recent WWE pay-per-views, even if some of the storylines haven't exactly been firing on all cylinders. When looking at Night of Champions from a wrestling standpoint, it has a chance of being a very strong show from start to finish.

RRR Interview with Author Brian Shields

Many wrestlers and events are considered to be iconic within the professional wrestling business, but nothing can top the grandeur of WrestleMania. Every wrestling fan has a special feeling for the Showcase of Immortals, which is why it is discussed all year long. WrestleMania also happens to have an incredible lineage as it has now been in existence of 30 years.
Few people have more knowledge of the biggest spectacle in wrestling than author Brian Shields. He has written a new book entitled 30 Years of WrestleMania, and he joined Ring Rust Radio recently to discuss the book and reveal his thoughts on a number of topics within the scope of WrestleMania.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What Is '30 Years of WrestleMania' All About?
In writing 30 Years of WrestleMania, Shields had unprecedented access to the product. He was given the opportunity to attend WWE events backstage, which led to interviews with many of the figures who have been instrumental in the success of WrestleMania. Shields also talked about his visit to the WWE warehouse, which is a storage facility for some of the most iconic props and pieces of memorabilia in WWE history.
Shields also revealed that the book will feature photos of much of that memorabilia. In addition to that, truly influential Superstars such as the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are highlighted due to the above-and-beyond impact they have had on the Show of Shows. The fact that 30 Years of WrestleMania will include information and comments about WrestleMania that even the biggest wrestling fans may not be familiar with makes this a must-buy book for anyone who enjoys sports entertainment.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
Although there are too many insider stories in the book for Shields to mention in the Ring Rust Radio interview, he did offer up a few tidbits that fans will definitely find interesting. Shields talked about the legitimate personal heat between Cena and the Rock, which helped fuel their rivalry leading up to both WrestleMania XXVIII and WrestleMania XXIX.
Shields also talked about the WrestleMania XII Iron Man match between Michaels and Bret Hart. Vince McMahon wasn't keen on the idea initially, but long time confidant Pat Patterson sold him on the notion of a 60-minute match to determine the WWE champion.
Those anecdotes only scratch the surface of what 30 Years of WrestleMania will provide for fans. There is no more comprehensive history of WrestleMania available, and there is little doubt that the book will be a huge hit.
