WWE Night of Champions 2014: Date, Start Time, Matches, Live Stream, PPV Info
Gold and pride are on the line at WWE Night of Champions 2014.
John Cena's quest to reclaim the WWE title highlights the upcoming pay-per-view. He will look to snatch that championship from Brock Lesnar just as the night's challengers will try to do to Paige, The Usos, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus.
The action begins on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, plays host to the eighth edition of the Night of Champions event.

Live Stream, PPV Info
Fans can stream Night of Champions via the WWE Network in a variety of countries.
The company recently expanded the service's global reach. Per WWE.com, the WWE Network is now available in Hong Kong, Australia and Mexico, for example. United Kingdom fans, though, won't get the WWE Network until October. To check availability in other countries, visit WWE's help center.
For those who prefer to view the event by way of traditional pay-per-view or live in an area where high-speed Internet is not available, your local cable companies have you covered.
Time Warner Cable, Xfinity and Cox Communications are among those broadcasting the pay-per-view. For standard definition, Night of Champions will run fans about $45. Some companies offer an HD option for an additional 10 bucks.
WWE.com's "how to watch" section has a complete list of cable companies carrying the event in the United States and around the world.
Pre-Show
Last-minute hype for the show comes free on the Night of Champions kickoff show. The hourlong special will feature a panel of Superstars, recaps of the night's biggest feuds and Christian talking to his old rival and tag team partner.
Christian will host a Peep Show segment with Chris Jericho as his guest. WWE.com writes that Captain Charisma will have "some hard-hitting questions in store" for Y2J.
The pre-show will stream for free via WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pheed and Pinterest. Of course, it's also available on the WWE Network. It all begins at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
Match Card
- Rusev vs. Mark Henry
- Paige vs. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella (Divas Championship)
- The Usos vs. Goldust and Stardust (Tag Team Championship)
- Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (Intercontinental Championship)
- Sheamus vs. Cesaro (United States Championship)
- Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho
- Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns
- Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
No one has yet been able to stop Rusev as the bruiser has strived to prove that Russia is superior to the United States.
After physical battles with Big E and Jack Swagger over the last few months, he now faces The World's Strongest Man. On Monday's Raw, Henry put Rusev in an unfamiliar position—flat on his back.
He will hope to repeat that feat come Night of Champions.
Aiding Stephanie McMahon in defeating Brie Bella at SummerSlam certainly boosted Nikki's career. Soon after, McMahon announced that both she and AJ would be challenging Paige for the Divas title.
AJ is seeking her third reign, Nikki pursues her second and Paige is hoping to walk out of Nashville with the gold still in her grasp.
The last time that Goldust and Stardust had a shot at the tag titles, frustration over not dethroning The Usos sent them into a state of rage.
The bizarre brothers have been especially aggressive as of late, particularly toward Jimmy and Jey Uso. As a result, Jey has felt the sting of a steel chair across his knee on several occasions.
After two fantastic matches with The Wyatt Family over the summer, the champs face speedier challengers who could help them steal the show once more.
The Intercontinental Championship has changed hands at each of the past two pay-per-views. The Miz last eliminated Ziggler to win it at Battleground. Ziggler responded by taking the championship from him at SummerSlam.
With Damien Sandow, Miz's "stunt double" at his side, he hopes to continue the trend of short IC title reigns.
As for the United States Championship, no one has been able to wrest it from Sheamus since he won it back in May. Cesaro will be hoping that his power and mat acumen help him take down The Celtic Warrior.
This promises to be one of the event's most physical battles as these men seem to put an extra pop in their punches when they meet.
Orton instantly renewed his old rivalry with Jericho by attacking him in the trainer's room earlier this month. Now the two former world champs meet in a match with little buildup.
Can The Viper send Jericho out of the WWE and back to the world of rock music, or is Y2J set to taste revenge in front of a live audience?
After those veterans go at it, two emerging stars will have their shot at the spotlight. Rollins and Reigns have had a variety of violent encounters as of late, including Reigns hurling a cinder block at his former partner and Rollins leaving Reigns out cold in a steel cage.
Reigns earned a clean win over Rollins on the Sept. 15 Raw. After WWE gave away that match for free, it's now up to the former Shield members to top what they did on the go-home show.
The marquee bout is a rematch of SummerSlam's main event.
After Lesnar throttled Cena to win the WWE title, he looks to dominate the fan favorite once more. Cena has been on a mission to prove that he can beat Lesnar, resulting in a newly aggressive side of him.
That was enough to allow him to knock Lesnar over in a brawl on Monday's Raw. Is it enough to get him his championship back?
Either Cena ties Ric Flair as having the most world title reigns in wrestling history or the Lesnar era marches on. Their bouts have all been hard-hitting affairs at this point. With Rusev vs. Henry and Cesaro vs. Sheamus also on the card, Night of Champions promises to deliver in terms of physicality.
When Lesnar and Cena collide once more, the world will be watching to see if The Beast Incarnate will devour his foe again or if Cena can overcome the increasingly unstoppable gladiator who Paul Heyman brags about each week.
