Chargers' Antonio Gates Moves into 11th on All-Time Receiving Touchdowns List
San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates burned the Seattle Seahawks for three touchdowns Sunday. In the process, Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910 noted that he moved into sole possession of 11th place on the all-time receiving touchdowns list.
Gates opened the day at 87 touchdowns, which was tied for 13th place with Andre Reed and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The trio was one back of Don Maynard.
As part of a seven-reception, 96-yard performance, Gates caught two eight-yard touchdowns in the second quarter, followed by a 21-yarder in the third.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The first two scores came on third down, with the third coming on a 2nd-and-20. The third was the most aesthetically pleasing, as Gates made a one-handed grab between two Seattle defenders.
Now at 90 career touchdowns, Gates will tie Isaac Bruce in 10th place upon catching his next TD. Already second on the NFL's all-time list for touchdowns by a tight end, the 34-year-old Gates sits three ahead of Fitzgerald for first place among all active players.
Assuming he plays beyond this season, Gates will likely join the club of players with 100 receiving touchdowns. It currently has just eight members.
The future Hall of Famer has three three-touchdown games in his career, previously accomplishing the feat on Nov. 11, 2004 and Oct. 30, 2005.
Gates is now one of just four tight ends with three career three-touchdown games, joining Hall of Famers Kellen Winslow (four), Shannon Sharpe (three) and the somewhat lesser-known Todd Christensen (three).
