Where Will Halladay Go?
There are several teams that want Roy Halladay. The real question is which team will make the move. The Phillies look like the team that will make that move. The only problem that the Phillies face is can they afford to give up so much for Roy Halladay. The Blue Jays are asking quite a lot for Halladay. When Halladay was asked about the direction of the Blue Jay's franchise, Halladay responded, "Yeah, I do [like it]. I think we have a lot of great pieces. But the tough part is to be in a tough division. I think sometimes you do think you have enough guys to make a run. But if we lose one or two, it's just been frustrating in the past couple of years that we haven't been able to go out and get those couple of extra guys. ...
"So everything has to go right. You need guys to play to their potential. And you need two or three guys, that you don't expect, to step up."

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Halladay just doesn't have a chance of winning a championship in Toronto. They have a good team, but they're in too tough of a division to make the playoffs.
There were some rumors the Red Sox could land the Toronto ace, but those rumors weren't true. The Red Sox already have so many great pitchers. The Red Sox already have 6 or 7 great starting pitchers. They are switching to a six-man starting rotation to start after the All-Star break. The only reason the Red Sox would have of getting Halladay would be to stop the Yankees from getting him.
The Cardinals also have interest in Halladay. The Cardinals only have a 2.5-game lead over the Brewers and a 3.5-game lead over the Cubs. The Cardinals would like to get some breathing room in the division. Halladay is the one who could help the Cardinals do that. The problem is the Cardinals just don't want give that much for Halladay.
We'll see where the ace will land. Some say it will be the Phillies or the Cardinals or it could be for the worst of Halladay, staying in Toronto. Halladay is the only 100-game winner not to start a postseason game.
