Corey Graves, Veronica Lane and Latest WWE NXT Developmental News
Injuries have kept Corey Graves, Veronica Lane and a handful of other prospects out of the WWE NXT ring as of late.
Broken wrists and concussions have slowed several journeys from WWE developmental to the main roster. The week's NXT news isn't all bad, though. Call-ups are reportedly coming for two top Divas, and a trip to Japan's Ryogoku Kokugikan awaits two of NXT's most thrilling performers.
It could be Graves in that spot, wrestling at Tokyo's famous Sumo Hall, but he's stuck on the sidelines, waiting to recover. He and Lane are among those likely growing antsy watching the spotlight warm others.
Two Divas Reportedly Headed to Main Roster Soon
1 of 5WWE is soon going to bolster its main roster Divas division.
The company is reportedly set to call up Sasha Banks and Charlotte. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via PWMania.com, noted that a big reason that WWE released Aksana is more Divas are coming up from NXT, "most notably Charlotte and Sasha Banks."
Banks' promotion would be no surprise. She has embraced her sassy character, becoming compelling on top of being a talented ring-worker.
Charlotte is still raw but has improved at an impressive rate. Her match against Natalya at NXT Takeover was tremendous, arguably the best bout of the night.
Should both of them make it to the big leagues, the NXT's Divas division is going to have two major holes to fill. That means huge opportunities for Bayley and less-experienced prospects like Alexa Bliss.
Divas Currently Injured

The NXT Divas division's disabled list is crowded right now.
According to PWInsider, via Wrestling Inc's Marc Middleton, "Kendall Skye is currently out of action with a broken wrist while Dana Brooke and Veronica Lane are both dealing with knee injuries." None of these women are prominent stars, but sitting in the trainer's room makes it hard to achieve that status.
While these women heal, opportunities for others arise. With Sasha Banks and Charlotte likely on their way to the main roster, WWE is going to need to introduce some new faces.
It won't be Skye, Lane or Brooke who serve that role for the moment.
Solomon Crowe Could Be in Line for Another Repackage
3 of 5Before we see Solomon Crowe debut, it appears he has to undergo another transformation.
WWE initially gave Crowe a hacker gimmick. Look for him to get something else to work with instead.
According to PWInsider, via Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc, "there's talk that NXT's Solomon Crowe may be repackaged before being brought to WWE TV." Readers told WrestleZone.com back in February that Crowe had seemingly dropped the hacker angle.
The fact that Crowe never debuted the gimmick on TV is a possible sign of the company's lack of faith in it. He had fully run with it, implementing the persona into his Twitter account, which has recently seen him move from images of infiltrating and infecting the system to focusing more on crow imagery.
A Raven and Sting hybrid with Crowe's own manic energy could certainly work.
NXT Stars in Japan
4 of 5When WWE heads to Japan, it's taking Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn along. Upcoming house shows in Japan will feature appearances by Hulk Hogan, matches involving John Cena and Roman Reigns as well as three bouts with the NXT Championship on the line.
WWE has announced (h/t Pro Wrestling Torch) that Zayn and Neville will compete at WWE's live shows in Tokyo on July 10 and 11, as well as one in Osaka on July 12.
Neville and Zayn will undoubtedly thrill the Japanese fans, but the bigger news is what this means for both prospects' futures. They are the only two NXT folks WWE is booking at these events. That's a sign of how highly the company thinks of them.
Working WWE house shows is often a precursor for getting called up (as it was for Bo Dallas and Rusev most recently), but getting the nod to be a part of an international tour is an even bigger deal.
It won't be long before these two are transferring their battles to Raw and SmackDown.
Corey Graves Recovering from Injury
5 of 5Corey Graves clashed with Sami Zayn several times in 2014 before seemingly disappearing. The latest word on where he's been is the kind of news Bad News Barrett usually delivers.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports, "Graves, who was off for some time earlier in the year due to a concussion, suffered yet another one, according to several sources."
Multiple concussions at this stage in his career is a bad sign. As Dr. Jeffery Barth writes on Brainline.org, "the more concussions you get, the easier it is to get them, the less of an impact or the less acceleration you have to have in order to actually experience a concussion."
Hopefully, Graves can recover with no ill effects and have a great career in the business. In an industry so dependent on collisions, concussions are going to happen.
For many wrestlers, it's been an injury that one simply lets heal and moves on from. For others, like Christian, it's led to discussions about retirement.
