Xavi Transfer Rumours: Latest News on the Barcelona Star
In an eventful week for Barcelona, midfielder Xavi Hernandez has been a reassuring presence for the Catalan club.
Barca were in the headlines for several off-field issues, including Sandro Rosell's resignation in relation to the Neymar signing, ongoing developments regarding a new stadium and more.
In any case, prior to the team's 3-0 victory over Malaga, the Nou Camp faithful celebrated their star midfielder making over 700 appearances for the club.
As expected, it is looking like the player—who also turned 34 at the weekend—will be sticking around for a while yet.
For any further details about Xavi's future plans with Barca, or possibly (but less likely) elsewhere, be sure to check back here throughout the week.

All Quiet at Barcelona with Xavi
1 of 2Friday January 31
With the hours of the January transfer window winding down, there is unsurprisingly little to report in regards to Xavi Hernandez.
The Barcelona midfielder made it clear earlier in the week he had no imminent intention of leaving (see next page).
Despite the small possibility of interest from elsewhere arising to try and tempt him away at some point, things have stayed quiet.
With no major changes expected around him at Barca, it is a case of as you were with Xavi in Catalonia.
Xavi Declares His Intention to Stay at Barcelona

Speaking to Barcelona's official website after his team's victory over Malaga on Sunday, Xavi stated he has no intention of leaving any time soon.
The Spain international has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer in recent weeks but was eager to put an end to that speculation.
"I’m not going to Qatar or New York, I want to finish my contract with Barca," Xavi told FCBarcelona.com. "I’m staying here, I feel important and useful."
Whether or not that implies he sees any move elsewhere as being only for a pre-retirement payday, it would appear Xavi at least believes he has plenty to contribute still to the Barcelona cause.
Having played 78 minutes against Malaga—his 27th appearance of the season—it would seem boss Tata Martino certainly has the player in his plans for the time being.
Xavi's contract expires in 2016, by which time he will be 36 years old.
