Barcelona stalwart Xavi Hernandez has been linked with moves away from his club in recent weeks.
Barcelona without Xavi Hernandez seems almost unimaginable. In any case, despite recent speculation linking the longtime servant with a move away, it is something fans of the Catalan club are unlikely to have to worry about for the time being.
The 33-year-old has featured 25 times this season, and is still very much a part of one of the best club midfields in world football.
Even if a move away from Barca seems remote right now, Xavi's age and the likelihood of interest from elsewhere makes his future worth keeping an eye on. As integral as he has been for his boyhood club, the time is approaching where they will have to at least begin considering life without him.

Over the weekend, New York Red Bulls sporting director Andy Roxburgh admitted he would be keen to sign Xavi, but also stated there is "nothing for us to talk about at this moment in time."
As quoted by NBC Sport's Steve Davis, Roxburgh made it clear that New York—home to Xavi's former Barcelona teammate, Thierry Henry—would be interested in signing the Spain international if he became available.
Roxburgh noted Xavi remains under contract with his current club until 2016, and how "in the short term, I can’t imagine such a thing (a transfer) happening."
Following the initial emergence of speculation linking the veteran with a move to Major League Soccer, Xavi denied any deal was being discussed—either with the Red Bulls or Manchester City's New York franchise, per Charles Reynolds of The Independent.
"I know nothing else about New York apart from that it is very cold there. Henry has not called me, nor have I spoken with him. I do not have his telephone number."
