Ryback Beating the Undertaker at WrestleMania Would Be Bad for Everyone
If Ryback beats The Undertaker at WrestleMania, it would be a slap in the face to the veteran. The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak should never end. There are reports courtesy of F4Wonline.com that have been put on the table as early considerations for Ryback challenging and defeating the streak at WrestleMania, which is six months away.
I'm not opposed to Ryback being the one who challenges Undertaker at WrestleMania. In fact, I think it's one of the best options for an opponent for the WWE legend. Ryback would have the best match of his career if in the ring with The Undertaker. And having the best match of his career with his highest-profile opponent ever on the biggest stage could give great energy and stability to the career of the new "Paul Heyman guy."

But he doesn't need to and shouldn't win the match.
The Undertaker's streak is something we will never see again. All the theories of which young guy should beat it and get the grand rub are bad. If someone beat the streak, the pressure on their career would become insurmountable. They can't let their career get halted with injury, personal issues, bad booking or anything else.
Five years ago, theories of Ted DiBiase Jr. beating The Undertaker floated around. Imagine if he would have beaten The Undertaker's streak and then had to combat with all the injuries he's had since then.
Ryback is on the best roll of his career. He needs to keep doing Ryback. We're already trying to get him away from nonstop comparisons to Goldberg. Beating The Undertaker would be a whole new lineup of comparisons and questions that he doesn't want.
Think of all the names who didn't beat the streak. Shawn Michaels after repeated attempts, Triple H after repeated attempts, Kane after repeated attempts, CM Punk, Ric Flair, Edge and many more.
If Ryback is the one guy who does it, he can never cut a bad promo, never have one bad match, he better not ever get hurt for an extended period of time and better not ever get suspended. The level of expectation to which he will be held by everyone will be greater than anyone before him.
He would garner unrealistic expectations and pressure courtesy of winning a match he shouldn't win.
Ryback would have to become the next Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock in order for beating the streak to seem worthwhile. The Undertaker has built 20 years of legacy and, if it gets used on someone who doesn't excel to the highest expectation, it will be a slap in the face to that legacy.
Once the streak is broken, that's something you can't get back. WWE can't pretend it never happened. Thank goodness WWE never considered Chris Benoit for ending the streak. What a mess that would have been.
Cena is the only one who could ever beat the streak because it would be a catalyst for a whole new chapter in his career, possibly being a heel, but mainly because there is zero chance he would ever slap the streak in the face. He's already going to go down as one of the biggest WWE stars ever. The grand magnitude of The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak should be conquered by a star of equal grand magnitude.
More gain comes for Ryback if he loses. Being in the ring with The Undertaker at WrestleMania is a rub much more appropriate. The backstory of Heyman's being there after managing a losing effort to CM Punk last year at WrestleMania coupled with Ryback's new swagger and the event's reputation as The Undertaker's novel act makes it an intriguing scenario to purchase.
Give the people what they pay for. They don't pay to see The Undertaker lose at WrestleMania. They pay to see a five-star match and for the streak to continue.
If Ryback takes part in a quality build, followed by a quality match where he loses with the most quality opponent on the most quality stage, his career will take off to a new level and the fans will walk away happy. He will be an even better heel and have much more long-term potential in his career.
If he beats The Undertaker, he will get great heel heat instantly from the crowd. However, in the long run he could have heel heat from the entire industry if his career drops the ball and doesn't match up to the expectations he'll have on his shoulders.
