Little League World Series 2013 Schedule: Day-by-Day TV Listings
The Little League World Series is one of the most exciting tournaments showcasing non-professionals you can see all year long. Luckily for those who can’t sit on the hill at Lamade or Volunteer Stadium, ESPN’s networks will be showing each of the games throughout the duration of the international championship.
Which team is going to dog pile on the pitcher’s mound come August 25?
Teams from Japan and California have had the most success in the last few years. California won the championship in 2009 and 2011, while Japan won in 2010 and last year. Will either of those teams be taking a victory lap after the World Series Championship or will another emerge as the champion?

Top First-Round Matchups
Southeast vs. New England
Game Info: Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m. at Lamade Stadium (ESPN2)
Goodlettsville, Tennessee represented the Southeast a year ago in Williamsport and had a ton of success. Tennessee cruised through the United States Bracket and looked to upend Japan in the final. That didn’t happen, though, as Japan rolled to a 12-2 victory over the Americans.
This year, the boys from South Nashville, Tennessee will be looking to accomplish what their buddies couldn’t: win the Little League World Series crown. South Nashville lost the Southeast Regional opener to Virginia, but won four straight games thereafter to earn a trip to Pennsylvania.
Tennessee will be taking on Connecticut in the second game in the United States Bracket this year. Fairfield has been one of the most successful teams in New England in recent memory, but it will be the boys from Westport, Connecticut representing New England this time around.
Chad Knight has played a big role in his team’s success, as he’s been effective at the plate and on the mound thus far. Connecticut didn’t drop a game at the New England Regional and shut out its opponent in three of its six games. A Connecticut team hasn’t won the World Series since Trumbull did it in 1989.
Japan vs. Europe-Africa
Game Info: Friday, August 16 at 5 p.m. ET at Volunteer Stadium (ESPN2)
Japan enters the Little League World Series as the team with the biggest target on its back. It’s won two of the last three championships and was unstoppable a year ago. The team only allowed five runs throughout the duration of the international tournament. On the contrary, it scored 35 runs in five games.
Musashi Fuchu will represent Japan in Williamsport, as the team dominated the competition during the regional tournament. Musashi Fuchu won all four of its games to clinch a trip to the Little League World Series. Expect to see strong pitching and hitting from the Japanese in the coming days.
The boys from the Czech Republic have already done a lot, being the first to clinch a spot in the Little League World Series in the country’s history, according to the official website for Little League. But how far can the South Moravia little leaguers go once the tournament commences?
South Moravia won all of its games in the Europe and Africa Regional and scored quite a few runs. The team scored 93 runs in eight games for an average of 11.6 runs per game. It doesn’t seem realistic that the team’s offense will be as successful in Williamsport, but it could pull off one of the biggest upsets of all time against Japan.
