British Open Scores 2013: Real-Time Results and Storylines to Watch on Day 2
The Open Championship is less than two days old, but already the excitement for the tournament is picking up.
Tiger Woods is in contention to win his first major in five years, which is certain to bring more viewers than usual to the weekend. A few other veterans also had solid showings on Day 2, like Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel, to move up the leaderboard.
However, there is plenty more to watch on Friday as the players with afternoon tee times get started. Here is an updated leaderboard of the event as well as top storylines to follow for the rest of the day.

Can Zach Johnson Replicate His Success?
Zach Johnson got off to a fantastic start at the British Open by posting a 66 in Round 1. He had only one bogey to go with four birdies and an eagle.
This performance was a bit surprising considering the American had struggled for much of the year with only two top-10 finishes in 17 events. However, he finished in second place at last week's John Deere Classic and is obviously carrying over the momentum into this tournament.
Johnson had his best ever finish at the Open Championship last year when he tied for ninth. He is clearly gaining confidence in his game and has shown the ability to post low scores.
At this point, the only question is if he can keep his consistency and remain on top of the leaderboard.
Will Phil Mickelson Struggle in the Afternoon?
After posting a solid 69 in his first round, Phil Mickelson said that he was fortunate to play in the morning because it was going to be a lot harder in the afternoon. He even said no one was going to have a lower score than he did, according to Will Brinson of CBS Sports:
This turned out to be wrong, as a handful of players were able to shoot in the 60s, but Mickelson was clearly wary of the hard greens and possible tougher weather.
On Day 2, Lefty is one of those who have to go out and play in the afternoon. It remains to be seen how the weather will turn out, but there is always the potential of wind picking up at any time.
Mickelson will have to be careful to make sure he does not play himself out of the tournament.
Can an English Player Win the British Open?
Two years ago, Darren Clarke won the Open Championship representing Northern Ireland. Paul Lawrie from Scotland won the title in 1999. However, it has been over 20 years since the last Englishman, Nick Faldo, won the championship at Muirfield.
A solid second round by Lee Westwood has him near the top of the leaderboard, but we have seen him close many times without winning. Fortunately, there are a few other players going in the afternoon with a chance of making a run.
Jimmy Mullen and Steven Tiley were solid on Day 1 and will try to stay in contention throughout the tournament.
However, possibly the best shot could come from Ian Poulter, who shot a 72 on Thursday including an awful back-nine. If he can regain his form from the beginning of the day, he will be a top contender going forward.
