UFC 162 Results: Biggest Takeaways from Epic Fight Card
In one menacing left hook, the entire fight world was never the same in an epic UFC 162 fight card with the Anderson Silva-Chris Weidman main event taking center stage.
While Silva-Weidman will garner the most reaction and talk in the coming days and weeks, heck even months, that wasn't the only big-time fight on Saturday night. We learned plenty from the other fights, with some of the world's best mixed martial artists coming up big.
Let's break down the biggest takeaways from the UFC 162 fight card on Saturday night.

Weidman Is the New King
Coming into Saturday's telling fight, Chris Weidman was oddly confident in his abilities to beat the fighter that so many have pegged as the greatest of all time.
Now we know why.
Weidman watched his opponent and the middleweight champion lolly-gag and fool around in the Octagon, and he kept his composure and his chin up. He looked for nothing other than takedowns and hard-hitting punches, and it paid off.
In the second round, Weidman caught Silva's jaw with a brutal left hook that nearly knocked The Spider unconscious. A couple of more big blows and he was on the canvas.
It was tough to read Weidman coming into the fight. The 29-year-old was just 9-0 coming into the bout, but so many of his wins were in thrilling fashion.
Now, he's the middleweight champion after a fight that so many expected to be a blowout win for The Spider.
Anderson Silva Has Lost it
There's no way to hide around it. Anderson Silva walked into the Octagon Saturday night with no respect for his opponent.
Before the fight even began, Silva showed blatant disrespect by refusing to tap hands with Weidman. It was like all Silva did in preparation for the fight was look up his opponent's career record and realize that he only had nine wins.
If there's one thing that is evident from watching Weidman's highlights, it's that the American is constantly looking to land hooks, and you can't keep your guard down. Oddly, that's exactly what The Spider did, giving Weidman all of the space in the world.
Silva constantly kept his hands down, sticking his head out in front of Weidman to tee up. However, Weidman scoped out the antics for long enough before making his attack.
It's crazy how quickly someone can go from the most celebrated UFC fighter ever to a disgrace and laughing stock. In a matter of 10 minutes, Silva forever tarnished his epic legacy.
Tim Kennedy Can Hold His Own in UFC
Coming into this fight card, one of the biggest questions was whether or not Tim Kennedy would be able to handle the transition to the UFC.
Just as well, he faced Roger Gracie, who had a major reach advantage and height advantage over the 33-year-old.
But from start to finish, Kennedy had the upper hand. He controlled the tempo, attacking when he wanted and landing a punch or two every time he leaned in.
Gracie got Kennedy into trouble by getting him on the canvas a few times early, but Kennedy figured out how to keep on his feet and that made all of the difference.
Kennedy is tough as nails, and his menacing punches tend to outweigh whatever his opponent can connect on his chin. He's versatile and can fight against opponents who aren't ideal matchups.
If Saturday night was any indication, Kennedy has an exciting future in the UFC.
