Uruguay vs. Tahiti: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview
Uruguay took a major step toward the Confederations Cup knockout stage with a victory over Nigeria. Now, the Celeste must take care of business against an overmatched Tahiti squad to join Spain as the teams coming out of Group B.
Tahiti did well simply to qualify for the tournament. Although it was clear from the outset the Toa Aito didn't have enough talent to compete, it's an experience the players won't soon forget. And they get one last outside chance to play the role of spoiler.
Uruguay can't allow for any shocking results. The favored side must take control of the match right from the outset—as Nigeria and Spain both did—and cruise to a big win. If it does that, a ticket to the semifinals and a matchup with Brazil or Italy would follow.

Knowing that, let's take a glance at all the key information for the Group B finale, followed by a closer look at some players to watch, and a match prediction.
Where: Arena Pernambuco in Sao Lourenco da Mata, Brazil
When: Sunday, June 23, at 3 p.m. ET
Watch: ESPN2
Live Stream: ESPN3.com
Uruguay Player to Watch: Diego Forlan
At 34, Forlan was expected to take on more of a secondary role in the Uruguay attack as the squad shifted toward Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. It hasn't happened. The veteran is still making a major impact and has displayed good form.
The Internacional star scored a crucial goal against Nigeria. The Super Eagles had equalized before halftime, but Forlan stepped up and delivered a perfect strike early in the second half to get the lead back. Uruguay held on for three key points.
Nothing will change against Tahiti. The Celeste should have little trouble controlling possession and putting a lot of pressure on the Toa Aito back line. For a resurgent Forlan, that should equate to a couple more international tallies for his résumé.
Tahiti Player to Watch: Nicolas Vallar
The tournament got off to a disappointing start for Vallar. Just five minutes into that match against Nigeria, he was charged with an own goal after the ball struck him and got past Xavier Samin. It was the first of 16 goals scored against Tahiti so far.
Given the talent gap between Tahiti and its Group B foes, the lackluster results don't come as a surprise. Yet, it's probably still frustrating for the captain to see other teams basically scoring at will against the back line he leads.
They get one more chance to step up. There's no doubt it will be another busy match for Vallar as Uruguay attempts to run up the score in order to guarantee its spot in the next round. Certainly not an easy task for the Toa Aito.
Matchup to Watch: Uruguay attack vs. Tahiti defense
Since Tahiti doesn't have the midfield depth necessary to put any serious pressure on the opponent, it spends a lot of time hunkering down in the defensive third. No matter how good the defense plays, eventually teams the caliber of Spain and Uruguay will break down the wall.
With only a minimal counterattacking threat, the Celeste will surely let the aforementioned trio of Forlan, Cavani and Suarez run free seeking a couple quick goals. Tahiti should be ready for it, but can Vallar and Co. stop it? Probably not.
Expect the Uruguayan side to take the challenge seriously early, at least until it has two or three goals on the scoreboard. The Tahiti defense may contain them for 10 minutes, but not 90. Uruguay will get the big win it needs to advance.
Prediction
Uruguay 7, Tahiti 0
