Matt Kuchar came into the tournament with five top-10 finishes and one victory on the year. That included a second-place finish at the Crowne Plaza Invitational in late May. He ranked eighth on tour in scoring average, 18th in sand-save percentage and 25th in putting (strokes gained), via PGATour.com.

The biggest thing for Kuchar at the Memorial was the fact that he improved his greens-in-regulation percentage. Coming into the tournament, he ranked 90th in the category, but he ranked first in GIR at the Memorial, via CBSSports.com. He also ranked first in the field in sand-save percentage (7-of-7).

Kuchar has a history of success headed into the Memorial. He didn't participate in the tournament last year, but he posted four straight top-10 finishes at the event before that.

Tiger Woods, the 2012 champion, finished in a tie for 65th at eight-over-par 296, among the worst that made the cut. After posting a 71 on the first day of the tournament, he registered a 74 in the second round, a 79 in the third round and a 72 in the final round.

Woods had posted five top-10 finishes (including four victories) before the Memorial, but his greens-in-regulation percentage (tied for 45th in the field) and sand-save percentage (tied for 55th) were off at Muirfield Village, via CBSSports.com.

Kevin Chappell certainly put on a show despite posting just two top-10 finishes this year before the tournament. He not only registered two eagles, he also ranked fifth in sand-save percentage, seventh in putts per round and eighth in driving distance, via CBSSports.com

Kyle Stanley, the 25-year-old out of Washington, had two top-10 finishes on the year headed into the Memorial (Wells Fargo Championship, Zurich Classic). He missed the cut at the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Coming into Muirfield Village, Stanley ranked 16th on tour holes per eagle, 31st in greens-in-regulation percentage and 32nd in driving distance, via PGATour.com. Stanley posted an eagle in the third round. He also ranked fourth in driving distance and 15th in GIR at the Memorial, via CBSSports.com.

Scott Stallings, the 28-year-old from Massachusetts, entered the tournament with two top-10 finishes on the year. He was coming off a fourth-place finish at the Crowne Plaza Invitational. He finished 25th in his second career appearance at the Memorial last year.

Hole No. 5 was the easiest hole for the field at the Memorial this year, via ESPN.com. Hole No. 16 was the toughest.
