The Royal Rumble Prediction Challenge: The Results
The results are in. The 2013 Royal Rumble has officially come to pass, and we now know that it will be (surprise, surprise) John Cena heading to the MetLife Stadium to headline WrestleMania 29.
As per Rumble tradition, last Sunday saw shocks, returns and also its fair share of predictable outcomes.
But how did YOU do with your predictions for the event?

Well, 150 of you entered the Royal Rumble Prediction Challenge, and after analysing the data, and collecting all of the results, we finally have our league table to see who came out on top in predictions for the big event.
Let me just say a huge thank you to all that took part in this challenge, and I do hope you will all join me in The Elimination Chamber Prediction Challenge which will be published within the next few days on B/R.
So, without further ado, here are the final standings for the Royal Rumble Prediction Challenge 2013.
1st - Dom Martin (101 Points)
Congratulations, Dom! Managing to successfully pick eight of the Rumble participants, including the winner (Cena), three of the final four (Cena, Ziggler, Sheamus) and the final entrant (Ryback), proved enough to ensure a concise victory of four points.
2nd - Kelvin Ash (97 Points)
Kelvin finished second with an extremely impressive 97 points. Again predicting three of the final four participants, and Ryback as the final entrant, in the end it was only Dom's prediction of Cena entering the match at No. 19 which cost Kelvin the honour of topping the table.
As with nine of the top 10, Kelvin correctly selected John Cena as the winner of the Rumble match.
3rd - Dr. Hackenbush (96 Points)
Similar to Dom and Kelvin, Dr. Hackenbush correctly selected Cena, Sheamus and Ziggler as final four superstars, and Ryback as No. 30. In the end it came down purely to the number of eliminations of each superstar to decide second and third, though, with Dr. Hackenbush's selections managing one less than Kelvin's.
T4th - John Stocco and Mark Holmes (92 Points)
6th - Kyle Gregson (89 Points)
7th - Dillon Borchard (88 Points)
T8th - Jordan Turner and Sayan Cena (87 Points)
10th - Trey Lee (85 Points)
A full list of the final position of all entrants is available below. Since I've highlighted the top three, though, it's only fair that I also shed some light on the bottom three from the 2013 Royal Rumble Prediction Challenge
150th - C**t Rubber (10 Points)
A lack of appearance from Eugene, The Repo Man and Chris Benoit cost this entry dearly. Only Cena, Jinder Mahal and Brodus Clay saved this entry from zero points.
149th - Josh Fry (14 Points)
Josh had two entries in the Prediction Challenge. His second attempt, however, didn't seem too farfetched. The fact that The Shield, Undertaker and Triple H meant that this entry was doomed before the match had even begun.
148th - Puppies (15 Points)
Much to my chagrin, the entrant named after my favourite Jerry Lawler catchphrase was not as successful at predicting the Rumble match as I had originally hoped. With Kermit the Frog, Vickie Guerrero and George "The Animal" Steele as part of his selections, this again, was an entry with no real hope.

While I appreciate that this challenge was released extremely early, I am very glad for all of the comments, support and positive feedback received for this competition.
Undoubtedly, storyline developments recently (ADR winning the WHC) may have had some effect on predictions made, but despite this we still had some astoundingly accurate, educated guesses when it came to the Royal Rumble match.
While I will not be publishing individual entries in this article, the following is a selection of superstars who would have yielded the most points if selected for the Royal Rumble Prediction Challenge:
Winner—John Cena (19), 42 Points
Final Four—Ryback (30), 22 Points; Sheamus (11), 22 Points; Dolph Ziggler (One), 20 Points
No. 1—Dolph Ziggler (as above)
No. 2—Chris Jericho (10 Points, 13 if selected as Alumnus)
Alumnus—Goldust (Eight)/The Godfather (17), 10 Points
Raw—Kane (24), Nine Points
SmackDown—Cody Rhodes (Three), 11 Points
No. 30—Ryback (as above)
Now, please bear in mind with the above entries that I have listed the perfect entry in order to maximise the most possible points available (this has meant selecting Kane and Rhodes, instead of doubling up with the actual MVP for Raw—obviously John Cena).
This particular entry (provided that the corresponding entry numbers selected were correct) would yield 146 points. With that in mind, this makes Dom's winning entry of 101 points that much more impressive.
I do hope that everyone enjoyed the challenge, and I will be running a similar competition for the Elimination Chamber in February. If you do choose to take part, then scores will be carried over cumulatively, in addition to a brand new league table for WWE's next pay-per-view.
If you do have any suggestions for future challenges, please feel free to leave any thoughts, comments or feedback below.
Once again, thanks for reading and taking part!
