Tim Tebow: Poor Performance by Mark Sanchez Means It Should Be Tebow Time in NY
Tim Tebow has waited on the bench for long enough. It is time the New York Jets allow the quarterback to play.
After an impressive opening day by Mark Sanchez, the starting quarterback has been pitiful in the last three games. Not only has Sanchez failed to complete over half of his passes in any of those games, but he has thrown three interceptions to only two touchdowns.
He has only thrown for 547 passing yards since Week 1, despite an average of 34 passing attempts per game. The entire offense has suffered as the unit has only produced 30 points in the last three weeks.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
One would think that with a 2-2 record, including losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers, an organization would wait to press the panic button. This especially makes sense considering the squad is currently tied for first place.
However, New York is one Dan Carpenter-made field goal away from a 1-3 record and in much worse shape within the division. It is also important to make a switch too early rather than too late.
Tim Tebow is unlikely to post far superior numbers compared to Sanchez, but he is a better option for this struggling team.
It is useless to cite the quarterback's statistics from this season, as he has only been used sparingly in gimmicky situations. Still, Tebow proved last season that he can help his team win games as a starter.
Not only were the Denver Broncos 7-4 with Tebow under center, but they had the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL. While teams had to focus on the mobile quarterback, Willis McGahee had a renaissance with 1,199 rushing yards. Lance Ball also added 402 yards on the ground.
This would be a big upgrade for the Jets, who have been unable to get anything done in the run game. The team has averaged 3.3 yards per carry, led by Shonn Greene who has not topped 40 yards since Week 1.
Adding Tebow would give the offense another dimension as he can get yards and first downs on his own, while also freeing up space for Greene and Bilal Powell.
Also, the popular player has a knack for winning games late. Thankfully, the Jets defense has been relatively solid throughout the year. If that unit can keep the game close, Tebow could replicate his five fourth-quarter comebacks from last year and earn a few more wins for his team.
With a passing offense that cannot get much worse and a run game that can be greatly improved, making the quarterback switch is almost a no-brainer.
