Tim Tebow, Rob Gronkowski and Other NFL Stars Who'd Be Great on MTV's Real World
NFL superstars are some of the most popular athletes in the world and have some of the biggest personalities. What would happen if there were an NFL version of the popular MTV show The Real World? Imagine if Tim Tebow and Rob Gronkowski were among those selected to be on the reality show.
MTV's The Real World has been airing since 1992. The show takes seven strangers and places them into a house to live for three months. The show always features a mix of characters who bring controversy and drama into the house.
If seven current NFL stars were picked to live in a house for three months and have their lives taped, who from the league would make the most interesting houseguests?
Well, that question is now answered. The following slides show seven current players who would make perfect houseguests for the show. All players were picked with the goal of making the best "must-see TV."
Adam 'Pacman' Jones
1 of 7Adam "Pacman" Jones definitely brings baggage along with him. Jones is a great talent who has never fully realized his potential due to many off-field issues.
He is perhaps most famously known for his infamous strip-club incident. Jones apparently "made it rain" by throwing money on the stage, then got angry when a dancer started picking the money up and slammed her head into the stage.
Of course MTV would want a guy like him on the show. There's always a roommate who is only there to party and then start trouble afterwards. Jones seems like a fun guy to party with, until he takes it too far.
Pacman would likely party all night, then spend the rest of the next day apologizing to roommates whom he ticked off the night before.
Ray Lewis
2 of 7Ray Lewis would play the role of the sensible older roommate. The 37-year-old Lewis has been a leader on the Baltimore defense since his rookie year of 1996.
If Lewis were on the show, he would be the guy who tries to lead the house and solve problems. Imagine Lewis sitting down with Pacman after a crazy night. Ray would talk in that soft, serious voice while trying to convince Jones to change his ways.
Ray Lewis would be a great member of The Real World. He would basically be able to do what he wants and make the other roommates go along with it. After all, would anyone really talk back to him?
Tom Brady
3 of 7Of course Tom Brady would have to be on the NFL version of The Real World. He's got the looks and the popularity that would make people watch. Every season of the show includes a polarizing figure, someone that you either love or hate. Brady is that guy from the NFL.
Brady may seem like he would make a boring roommate. There are few, if any, stories of him going out and acting a fool.
Tom Brady would be the annoying roommate with the long-distance relationship back home. Instead of hanging out with the rest of the house, he would be in the phone room talking with his supermodel wife.
That being said, he's Tom Brady. No show about the NFL could go on without him.
Tim Tebow
4 of 7Tim Tebow is even more polarizing than Tom Brady. Perhaps no backup quarterback has ever received as much attention as Tebow. While Tebow Mania gained him large following, he has just as many haters. Love him or hate him, if Tebow's involved, people will watch.
Tebow would probably not accept an invitation to The Real World, but it's fun to speculate what it would be like if he did. As his roommates enter the house from a night out, Tebow would likely be there to show them the error of their ways.
Drama follows Tebow wherever he goes and spreads to those around him. Just ask Kyle Orton and Mark Sanchez. That in itself is enough to put him on NFL Real World.
Sebastian Janikowski
5 of 7Sure he's a kicker, but he'd be a blast to party with. Sebastian Janikowski would be a great houseguest on The Real World. He's got a large personality that would be very watchable to viewers.
Of course, he has a history of being wild. In 2002 he was arrested for both a DUI and later a fight at a California restaurant. Janikowski is a large human being who would be the enforcer of the house.
There's no doubt that placing seven NFL stars together would be a lot of testosterone. There's bound to be pushing and shoving at some point. Janikowski is the guy who will make sure it doesn't escalate.
Rob Gronkowski
6 of 7Was there any doubt that Gronk would be on this list? Who wouldn't want to hang out with this guy for three months?
Gronk will be the guy who gets all the females in the house. He fits the mold that MTV seems to love for their show: an all-American jock with good looks.
There's always a guy who brings groupies back to the house. All Gronkowski has to do is go to a club and show his dancing skills.
Gronkowski would be the perfect cast member for the show. He would get along with everyone and simply be there for the fun.
Ndamukong Suh
7 of 7Rounding out the cast for NFL Real World is Ndamukong Suh. Every season has a loose cannon. Suh would be it.
Suh has gained a reputation for being a dirty player, thanks in part to his stomping incident last Thanksgiving. Fairly or unfairly, Suh now has to carry that moniker with him.
Fans of the show could liken Suh to the infamous villain CT, a soft-spoken person who could turn and erupt at the drop of a hat.
Suh would probably stick around for a while, but it would be a safe bet that producers would have to send him packing. Everyone knows the No. 1 Real World rule: if you put your hands on someone, you go home.
