NBA Rumors: Rashard Lewis Very Close to Agreeing with the Miami Heat
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Miami Heat are very close to a commitment from veteran forward Rashard Lewis.
"Heat on verge of getting a commitment from Rashard Lewis, sources tell ESPN.com. Story posted soon.

After spending nine seasons with Seattle, three and a half with Orlando and one and a half with Washington, Lewis is looking for his fourth home in fifteen years.
The best part of Lewis' game is his outside shooting ability. He's averaged 39 percent from beyond the arc in his career.
Although he's struggled recently, in Miami he'll get open looks for days. In his 14 years, Lewis has averaged 16.1 points per game.
David Aldridge is now reporting that the news Brian Windhorst stated on twitter is confirmed.
"Source confirms @WindhorstESPN report that Heat close 2 deal w/veteran F Rashard Lewis. Can only offer $1.35M vet minimum next year.

What Lewis brings is a player who can come off the bench and score. More than likely, he'll take the position of James Jones. Rashard Lewis adds more depth to the already talented second unit in Miami.
Just think about this.
When LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers and whoever their center is come off the floor, Ray Allen, Udonis Haslem, Norris Cole, Shane Battier and now Rashard Lewis are ready to step in. That's a nine-man rotation that is already very dangerous.
After winning the NBA championship in 2012, the Miami Heat have become even better.
"Lewis spoke with Hawks and Knicks, but felt Miami was the best fit, especially since he already had $13.7M coming from Hornets buyout.
