Knicks Rumors: Ranking Jeremy Lin and New York's Other Free Agent PG Options
The New York Knicks are now forced with the decision to match the Houston Rockets’ offer to Jeremy Lin or look for other options in free agency.
As reported by Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski via Twitter, Lin agreed to terms with the Rockets.

Lin is a restricted free agent, so the Knicks will have a chance to match the deal. But that is a lot of money to throw at a player who the team’s coaching staff has not had much time to evaluate. In addition, there are still other options at point guard in the free-agent market.
Here are the Knicks' options ranked in order of which will help the team most.
1. Jeremy Lin
Even though New York will have to fork over quite a bit of cash to keep Lin a Knick, this is the best move for the team.
Lin proved that he was the right man to run the Knicks last year by averaging 14.6 points and 6.2 assists. He was the spark that pulled them out of the gutter and his gutsy play is exactly what the team needs.
His youth did show at times last year, but he remained humble and will continue to do so as Jason Kidd suits up for Knicks. The veteran’s presence will help Lin develop as an NBA point guard.
New York has created an environment where Lin can flourish. All they need to do now is bring him back next year.
2. Raymond Felton
Felton never really got the chance to show what he could do at Madison Square Garden.
He played just 54 games for the Knicks and averaged 17.1 points and 9.0 assists before he was sent to the Denver Nuggets as part of a package for Carmelo Anthony.
Frank Isole of the New York Daily News reported via Twitter that Lin and Felton were the team’s two targets at the position.

Felton’s production dipped in Portland this past season and he only put up 11.4 points and 6.6 assists. Under the bright lights of New York City, he may be able to return to the form he was in during his brief stint with the Knicks.
3. Ramon Sessions
If the Knicks officially have a “Plan C” behind Lin and Felton, they are keeping it to themselves. But if the team can't work out the numbers to bring Lin back and is unable to strike a deal for Felton, Sessions is the next-best option.
Besides Sessions, available players include Aaron Brooks, Kirk Hinrich and D.J. Augustin. Brooks and Augustin are both restricted free agents while Hinrich is unrestricted.
Sessions is the most athletic of all four players and causes serious problems when he gets in the lane. This is likely why he caught the eye of ESPN New York’s Jared Zwerling.

While no rumors of any contact between the Knicks and Sessions have surfaced, his 12.7 points and 6.2 assists will likely spark interest from the team if they strike out on both Lin and Felton.
