Moyer, who was designated for assignment prior to being granted his outright release, will report to Triple-A Norfolk and make his first start on Saturday.
Moyer started 10 games for the Rockies before the team cut ties with him. He posted an unimpressive 5.70 ERA in 53.2 innings with the club.
It remains to be seen whether or not Moyer will get a shot at cracking Baltimore's rotation, but the team is down a few starters with Zach Britton and Tsuyoshi Wada both on the disabled list.
Although he may be given the chance in Baltimore, it may not exactly be the most ideal situation for the 49-year-old, soft-tossing left-hander.
The AL East is chock full of potent offenses. Moyer and his low-80's fastball may not fair too well in that division.
We'll see what happens, though. For now, Moyer is working on making it back to the big leagues with the Orioles.
