WWE Over The Limit 2012: The 5 Most Likely Last-Minute Matches
WWE Over The Limit 2012 only has five matches on the card up to now.
For a three-hour show, that is not many to work with.
Unless the WWE have had a complete change of heart and are going to give each match the time it deserves to shine, we can surely expect some filler matches to enter the fray.
None will be show-stealers, of that I am sure, but they could be a lot of fun and serve as a comedown between big-time matches such as CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan.
I have listed the five most likely spontaneous matches we will see at Over The Limit tonight.
Enjoy!
Ryback Squash Match
1 of 5Ryback has been on a role, squashing local talent one by one—apart from that handicap match he had where he decimated two jobbers simultaneously.
I do not think he is ready to go into a serious match with talent so if he does make an appearance tonight, it will be to squash either a wrestler or some more local boys.
Funkasaurus Squash Match
2 of 5Brodus Clay still has not lost since returning to WWE television under the Funkasaurus gimmick.
He looked to be going a little further up the ladder than Ryback when he defeated Ziggler at Extreme Rules.
However, he then aligned himself with Hornswoggle (presumably because the little guy had nothing left to do), and I lost all interest in him.
If The Funkasaurus does show his face tonight, it will be purely to insert some fun into what is turning into quite a serious PPV.
Damien Sandow 'Unworthy' Match
3 of 5Damien Sandow will not have a proper match for a good few weeks, in my opinion.
He viciously attacked Yoshi Tatsu on Friday, and the same could happen tonight to Tyson Kidd or the equivalent.
Damien could make an appearance just so he could say he has debuted on a PPV—it could even be used as an excuse to not fight his opponent.
This would waste a good few minutes and bring a bit of sophistication to proceedings.
You’re welcome.
Tag Team Match
4 of 5I would love to see Darren Young and Titus O Niel take on another team—either one made up from mid-card superstars or an established team such as Primo and Epico or The Usos.
This would come as a welcome break from the matches that have already been announced and help to build the tag team division a little bit.
Having two tag-team matches on a PPV is about as likely as a storyline lasting longer than three months, but I can dream.
Intercontinental/US Title Match
5 of 5Neither of the mid-card titles are to be defended tonight, apparently.
One could be added last minute for the same reasons mentioned in the previous slides.
Cody Rhodes and Santino Marella are supposed to be the pinnacle of mid-card wrestling, yet they have been left off a PPV.
I don’t understand the WWE anymore.
If they want to make it up to us, they could have either one appear—even if they are easily beating lower-card talent, it would be better than nothing.
