WWE Over the Limit 2012: Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar Must Make an Impact
The wrestling world has been turned on its ear since WrestleMania 28 as it watched two of the most controversial characters in the business, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, return to a WWE ring.
While it’s true Brock Lesnar has quit the company and Heyman is just his legal counsel, the duo must make their presence felt at this Sunday’s Over the Limit Pay-Per-View.
It’s time for the duo to hold the WWE hostage…again!
With Monday’s pointed words from Triple H during Raw, Heyman came to the ring with a lawsuit. The heated verbal and physical confrontation that followed exposed the direction of this storyline.
Joey Styles is reporting on WWE.com about what could be deeper intentions behind Paul Heyman’s return to the company:
""From a business standpoint, as a representative of Lesnar’s, recouping even a small percentage of Lesnar’s seven-figure contract is a nice commission for Heyman. The question is: Does Heyman (who turned down multiple offers to return to wrestling during his five-year absence from WWE, indicating income is not an issue for him) relish suing WWE as personal payback rather than a pecuniary payday?"
"
It’s time for a run-in!
With the stipulation from the WWE Board of Directors that John Laurinaitis vs. John Cena cannot have a special guest referee or anyone at ringside and that anyone who does interfere will be fired, having Brock Lesnar who quit run-in and cost Cena the win would be amazing.
After holding the company’s main event hostage, Triple H would be forced to negotiate with Heyman and Lesnar. This could be the beginning of the long build to their eventual match at SummerSlam.
This situation with Heyman’s return may have been a last-second addition to the story, but the depth and substance this adds to a floundering Brock-return could save this yet.
People care about this now, even more than before.
